Hi all

Long-time reader of WW, first-time poster. Like blind1967 I've just been into bikesoup and placed an order. Although at the other end of the spectrum - an XL. They reckon 10-14 days for delivery - given Florian bikes are still saying 3 months I don't share their optimism, but let's see. I guess it's possible that Seka are giving some priority to their newest distributor, especially having attended and got hype at Rouleur etc.
This won't be my first Chinese frameset but will be the first with a brand name on it and the first that is more than $1000. Thankfully bikesoup do cycletowork which makes it a considerably cheaper proposition.
Thanks to all here for insight over the last 39 pages - a really useful resource.
Mine will be also XL. So we need more photos of XL bikes :D
Florian told me February delivery.

Will do mrcurrieinahurry (great username-making me hungry).

For info in case ppl wondering about tyre clearance, the chronos rdc in bikesoup had zip 303s with 32mm tyres on. Asked the team to get the calipers out and they came out at 32mm exactly. They fit fine but tbh I'm not sure I'd want to go any wider. So the stated 32mm max is imo to be taken literally.

30mm max on any decent set of modern wheels then. The advertised max *should* be with 6mm clearance to meet ETRTO standards.

ISO 4210-2 allows for 4mm of clearance for road/race bikes.

I believe the first white Spear in Europe.

Will build it up this weekend. Let me know if there is anything you want to know as I do!

Can you get this colour w/ a non painted seatpost, do you know?

The Spear is part of a 4-bike shortlist for my next road bike, and I only like this colour and the twilight blue (though that only comes on the RDC model - but I'll pick whichever I like best. Colourway >>> grams).

It seems like a reasonable swap if you ask a dealer. Alternatively once spares are more readily available I'm sure you could get a raw or painted black one.

This is an MR. I've not seen a white one weighed yet.

Thanks.

I feel and fear that a white RDC will end up weighing like a standard non RDC frame, which is a bit annoying but it's always like that with the white ones... I hope to see all colours in the flesh and to end up liking the blue twilight more than the white...

What groupset did you choose for it? Would like pics of the finished build, I've not seen a white one fully built up.

Remind me, are you EU or UK based? Asking as I hope to go to Bikesoup in London over the weekend, or next Thursday as I'm in the office. If you're UK I might send you a few QQs privately.

I'm in the UK, but got mine via Florian Bikes. Feel free to DM!

I'll be doing weights through the build on Saturday.

Re: David Arthur video. Good for exposure but I can't attribute any value to any review he's ever done.

Has anyone mounted an EXS handlebar to one of these? The stock bar looks nice, but unfortunately the longest stem length in the narrowest config is a bit short. If so, wondering which top spacer they used?

I'll be mounting an EXS. Building it on Saturday. I'll try to use what I have, but EXS have said they will add a Spear spacer kit option.
