I dont think any top tube is fairing well in that situation

I must say I am little disappointed with the bike weights I see on Internet (facebook groups, yt, ww) of seka spear rdc.
I see the bikes (with 1200-1300 gr wheelset) on top groupset (red, dura) and pedals- and bike weights 7,1 kg.
This is only 200-300 gr lighter then my AERO bike in size XL. i dont see here any gain. or am I wrong![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)

I was comparing the XL to an L Aeroad/Ultimate fits.TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:15 am
Undersized in what way?
Below is an overlay of a medium Quick Pro AR:One (red,) medium Tarmac SL8 (blue) and medium Giant TCR (green.) The AR:One has the longest wheelbase and tallest ST of the three.
ST and wheelbase aren't fit parameters. I look at stack and reach.

There's only so much you can eek out of the frame. If you've got a frame coming in at 720g you can build it up super light, the rest comes down to what you choose.Gattsu wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:55 pmI must say I am little disappointed with the bike weights I see on Internet (facebook groups, yt, ww) of seka spear rdc.

This is a quirk of neither Canyon nor Quick Pro using "ML" in their t-shirt sizing scheme and Canyon's sizing starting with an offset at the low end.
Trek - S M ML L
Giant - 52/S 54M 56/ML 58/L
Canyon - XS S M L
Specialized - 52 54 56 58
Quick Pro - S/460 M/490 L/520 XL/550
If you look above, a Trek M is a Canyon S is a Specialized 54 is a Quick Pro M/490. But also a Trek L is a Canyon L is a Giant L and a Specialized 58 and a Quick Pro XL/550. No company is being deceptive in its sizing practices. “ML” is just kind of weird nomenclature…there’s no small-medium size bracketing the medium from the other side after-all.
My point WRT WB and ST is that in a proper comparison, the AR:One's geometry does it no favors in the weight department.

For those in the UK interested in the Spear. I popped into Bike Soup ( the UK distributers) yesterday and had a good chat with them.
They had 2 built bikes and a frame on display in a fairly prime position. They also have plans for a bigger display in near future. I was told they will carry stock of the various bars, seat posts and other accessories and seem pretty committed to making the brand a success. They have frames being delivered soon and suggested a quick delivery time for anything not in stock.
Speak to Kieran if you want any Seka info as he seems to be the guy dealing with them.

Seems like a fairly honest review.antihero wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:26 amHere is the final review from GCperformance

I wanted one, but not anymore (will buy an SL8 most likely). They did well with hyping the Spear, but as soon as they started delivering frames it's all fallen apart. The web site still has a tonne of grammatical errors. Would take all of 10 minutes to correct. For example:
3-year of revolutionizing
We introduced the concept of”Sectionalized design” in the Spear model, where each frame section serves a specific purpose.
3 Years of Revolutionizing
The Spear introduces the concept of "Sectionalized Design", where each frame section serves a specific purpose.
That took all of a few seconds to edit, it's not hard.
There's hardly anyone making YouTube content on the Spear (I used to search daily, then weekly, now I've stopped searching altogether). Nice looking product, glad to hear it's actually good. Had lots of potential, it's such a shame that SEKA's marketing has stalled at the finish line.

As a counter, when they are completely sold out including months in to the future, hard marketing isn't a wise investment.
Comparing a 'startup' brand like Seka with an established multinational brand like Specialized and criticising Seka's marketing as weaker is perhaps an unrealistic expectation. But yes the website could be better, I hate grammatical errors too.justinfoxphotos wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 9:56 amSeems like a fairly honest review.antihero wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 1:26 amHere is the final review from GCperformance

One area where big brands are clearly better value is in providing a supply of parts well into the future. I and many others were caught out buying a Vitus aero bike with proprietary seatpost and other small bits. Vitus went under along with Wiggle and parts are impossible to find now.
I can easily get parts for my Giant Propel 7 years after production of the frame ended. Ask yourself if it will it be possible to buy Spear bits in a few years' time?
Giant Propel Advanced SL Red Etap 11s Easton EC90 wheels CeramicSpeed BB Zipp SL70 bars 6.5kg
S-Works SL8 Dune White SRAM Red AXS Craft CS5060 wheels Roval Rapide bars 6.6kg
S-Works SL8 Dune White SRAM Red AXS Craft CS5060 wheels Roval Rapide bars 6.6kg
If us random forum posters can get grammar mostly right I don't have much sympathy for companies that get it wrong.
And yeah this things resale is gonna be non-existent. Beautiful frame but tough sale for me

You are aware there are multiple grammar sins in this post, right?

Is your only gripe on the frame the fact you aren't being targeted by advertisements? Why do you want to be told what to think so badly?

Hey no need to get personal! I'm not here to argue, just voicing my opinions. Obviously they do care about English speaking countries as they're spending a LOT of money to be at every bike show possible all around the globe.dudemanppl wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 12:25 amIs your only gripe on the frame the fact you aren't being targeted by advertisements? It's got nothing at all to do with being told what to think (what the actual *f##k*?), but more to do with professionalism, which, by new accounts of people ordering frames and not receiving them, to people being refunded for desposits, to GC's video openly stating that he's not even getting a reply from them via email revealing how truly unprofessional SEKA are as a company.
