If you have the measurement from heart of the mount to the bottom of the 1040, I can measure it for you to see if it clears.

Hi, im currently waiting in patience for my Fray to be painted bij EditVelo. Its a size 58 and I've ordered SRAM Red XPLR. Any tips on a good DUB Wide Bottom Bracket?
I don't want to spend unnecessary money on ceramic. Rather have steel with a proper seal and easy replacement/maintanance

I have a BBInfitine in my MOG and it's great.
What version do you have?

Funny thing when I was building my waltly. I was going to go with a white industries one, but it used enduro bearings, so thanks, but no thanks. I got a rotor bracket, unfortunately it came also with enduro bearings et voila, they were gritty from the start. I cannot tolerate a gritty bearing, drives me crazy. Then, I order a Standert one, same thing, gritty bearings.Tarmacian wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 6:32 pmHi, im currently waiting in patience for my Fray to be painted bij EditVelo. At last, I got a sram original one. Perfectly smooth bearings, amazing spacer design( the spacer clicks inside the bearing, and it is sealed better than the previous ones). So I would recommend a sram one without hesitation

I'd have to go dig up info to get the model number, but it's with the steel bearings. They're pretty good at getting back to you to make sure you have a compatible version.
The standard SRAM bb is also really good, as noted above! I have that in my Soloist and I haven't had to think about it for two years.
I'll have a look at the BBInfinite. Ik like the fixed sleeve approach.
One other question: is there anyone who has wider (gravel) tires on the Fray? I'm planning it builing it as a light gravel/all-round bike at first. SInce i'll be running 1x13 it can hold 40mm but i'm curious if 42mm might fit too. In that case i would love the s-works Pathfinder. Otherwise i think i'm trying Hutchinson Caracal Race TLR 40. My rims are 25mm internal.

Thanks! I've ordered the Hutchinson Caracal.
I see you've got an Wolftooth Chainguide, what version do you use and what chainring do you ride?
The 1040 clears - I have one on mine.MementoMori wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:00 amIf you have the measurement from heart of the mount to the bottom of the 1040, I can measure it for you to see if it clears.
both speedero 40 and challenge bianca strada 40 run just fine on 3.4s with sram axs 2x on my size 50 frame, closest spot is definitely the battery but have 5mm+ of clearance, would probably only avoid mud where it can get stuck in the tires, you should have any issues in dry weather
