That bike looks awesome!!
Could you please post a closeup of the headset top cap conversion to the sl7 stem?
I'm about to pull a trigger on a size 49 frame. Btw what saddle high do you use? Just for me to get a perception of how it will look mine.

Thanks!

Here are some pics from my Allez Sprint with the conversion to an SL7 stem.

From the bottom up:

First is a Raceware Specialized SL7 Tarmac Stem to Allez Sprint / Spacer (https://www.racewaredirect.co/shop/spec ... nt-spacer/)
Second is a 5mm spacer from the Specialized Tarmac SL7 Heasdset Cover, Spacer & Transition Kit.
Third is a spacer, from the same kit, that allows the cables to enter the headtube.

Thanks for the feedback! It looks really clean. Anyone has an SL8 or SL7 that could compare the ride quality of the Allez? Similar wheels and so on would be great ehehehe.
I really don't know what to expect. Have never ridden an aluminum bike road frame

Hi all,

Looking for recommendations on a 1pc bar/stem set up (110mm / 40cm maybe even 38cm)

Currently running a Deda DCR Superbox stem and a ProVibe aero alloy bar.

Anyone know if i can keep the headset cover and just pop on a Deda Alanera?

Hi gang, does anyone know if you can fit an S works SL7 fork on this bad boy? Might be a way to drop a bit of weight...

It's already a Tarmac fork I believe.

Edit: It is. Not sure what the weight difference is between a Pro and S-Works Tarmac fork is.

Yeah, I've seen S works SL7 forks as low as 339, so about 100g less than one of the other posters here had listed.

I don' think it's that much. I had a Pro SL7 and an S-Works SL8 and the difference is like 30g. My SL7 Pro fork is 400g. So maybe 50g. Not sure if that's worth whatever it costs to get an S-Works fork.

Hmm I saw this earlier this evening Patrick Lino had his uncut fork at 435g (page 3).
Saw the poster here:

viewtopic.php?t=163190

had his uncut SL7 fork at 339g.

Not sure if Specialized made forks stronger after the SL7 recall. All things considered though, I wouldn't be real keen to pay full price for even 100g.

Just thought I'd add a photo of my "Gloss Ink Technique" frame I just picked up. Threw my old group set on it last week and have almost 100 miles so far. It's stiffer than what I'm used to but not by much. Tubeless 32s at 50psi really smooth out the road. Weighs 19 pounds with pedals, cages, and pump. Can't wait to get some solid winter miles. Never had a frame with headset routed cables but gotta say it wasn't hard at all. I like riding a metal bike.

Any allez sprint owner that can compare it to an S Works SL8 ? I'm considering getting one of these for my winter bike. Saw some good 2nd hand deals!

Would be interested to see your clearance running 32s!

I have an SL7 and an Allez Sprint. The Tarmac is my regular bike, setup with Ultegra Di2. Allez has 105 Di2. The Allez is for Zwift. I got it because the geometry is the same. Tarmac on Roval CLII with 32mm GP5000 tubeless. Allez on Roval C38 with 28mm GP5000 with tubes. So they are very similar.

The brutal truth is ... I almost prefer the Allez. It's so smooth and damp. I definitely wasted money on the Tarmac. The Tarmac is badass but I could have saved a lot. The only penalty - about 1kg but meh I'm around 80kg myself.
