Anyone running a garmin varia on their v2 ostro? If so, what mount do you use/recommend?
This link was posted by a member of Facebook's Factor Bike's Owner's group:

I dont use a varia; or know anything about the neat components site. FYI anyway.

After several weeks deciding which bike to choose finally pulled the trigger on Factor Ostro VAM V2.

I thought all the difficult decisions were passed now it's the which dual power meter for Shimano 12 speed 🙄😂 wouid prefer to stick to Shimano chain rings to ensure smooth shifting.

I've emailed a few websites on any suggestions based on the above, 4iiii dual sided Shimano Precision 3 Pro + or Assioma power pedals is what I was thinking for easy solution will see what responses I get back.

Would be keen on knowing which of those you settled with. On the same boat with my ostro and power meters. Thanks!

In the uk the main factor dealer - vires velo - sells Ostros with 4iiii power meters. So I assume the clearance is there.

That makes two of us. Just snatched a beautiful Ostro VAM V2 frameset, which I plan on building around a Dura Ace 9200 groupset.

Like you, I want a power meter, and I want Dura Ace chainrings, but I absolutely do NOT want the Shimano power meter. So after much deliberation, I've finally settled on the following:
- Dura Ace 9200 52/36 chainrings
- Sigeyi AXO power meter in Easton 4-110 configuration
- Elilee X310 crankset in 24mm configuration

That should give me Shimano shifting, at a lighter weight, and with a reliable power meter.

What have you decided in the end?

Hi

My Factor will be built with Ultegra although I will be changing some drivetrain components to Dura Ace.

I'm intending to go with 4iiii Dura Ace Precision 3+
Pro Dual power meter 52 / 36 chainrings with 165mm cranks

https://shop-uk.4iiii.com/products/dual ... 5285871791

I've pre ordered at a discounted price

Power meter only adds 29gms to crankset total weight will be similar to your chosen parts.

Original Ultegra Crankset and cassette will be sold therefore this will be most cost effective power meter upgrade.

Hi

Decided to go with 4iiii Precision 3 + Pro Dura Ace as weight will be similar to alternatives and for my build the cheapest option.

These are alternative options I got if you don't want to go with 4iiii

Rotor

https://rotoruk.co.uk/v1.asp?cat=1136&prd=272164 - 24mm BB

Or to go top of the shop Rotor make an independent left/ right meter called 2inpower SL (superlight)
Which has internal electronics in the axle so it has to be 30mm, which we can supply the BB for.

This can have the same rings with spider OR you can choose the superlight superstiff ONE piece double 52/36 rings which slide onto the spline..great power transfer and a super accurate left right dynamic

https://rotoruk.co.uk/v1.asp?cat=1136&prd=281199

Use BF2024 for an extra 15% discount

Or

Power2Max

We deliver VAT free and customs and shipping costs 29,-€ in your country you then pay your VAT.
We already have several customers who have successfully fitted a p2m to a Factor frame.

This would be the right link: https://www.power2max.com/en/product/ng ... -set-road/
Please order the p2m in BCD110 4S, then your chainrings will also fit. The ALDHU R24 is compatible with the Shimano bottom bracket.

If you can shell out the money.
Stay away from the rotor powermeter as it has the same quirks as before. Check gplama

The only option I trust and I run that combo on 3 bikes is the rotor power2max option.
I still have a type s power2max of 10y old and reads the same as the other newer although the crank has already been involved in 2 accidents with cars

I have the rotor aldhu carbon cranks with rings and the 4sl spider. So if you want you could still use the shimano rings if you want

I'm running P2max since 3 years on my Ostro V1.
High quality power meter with the same shifting performance than Shimano crankset if you use original chainrings and you can also cut some weight. What else?

My Ostro V1 was warrantied and replaced with a V2. No major ride feel/compliance differences noticed but enjoying it overall. I went away from the integrated barstem setup I had on my V1 to an internally routed mega narrow setup, the rest was carryover from my V1.
