Need to see if they’re worth it or I just get S-Phyres. How are they in terms of fit and cleat positioning?

I think their pricing is just a bit high but they are great shoes and exactly what you would expect. If you like the bathtub type shoe then youre good. If not, the the Shimano might be best.

Go a half size up from your normal size.

Cleat's position is fixed on models I saw IRL, which was a bummer for me.

Never tried Shimano, big fan of Fizik shoes from ages but gave it a shot at Nimbl.
Long story short, for long rides, my choice will always be Fizik.
A little bit more play in Nimbl cleat holes would be great.

Coming from Bont Vaypor, S works torch, RC902, the Nimbl Exceed is the best fitting shoe i ever had. Besides this obviously very personal thing, they seem to be long lasting as well and the material cleans very easily. Over 20k km and they're looking almost new. Can't say that for the Vaypors or Torch, which get stained very easily and material colors turns to "off white" fast.

How wide is the toebox of the Nimbl's compared to Lake and Bont's?

Nimbl is a little bit wider than same sized Bont Vaypor S, but height is a little bit lower.

Lower than a Vaypor S? The Vaypor S is pretty much the lowest toe box on the market - hence why they made it significantly taller in the Vaypor 2023 to fit more people. If it's lower than that I can't imagine it'll fit too many people.

That seems insanely low volume at the toe.

That might explain why it was suggested to go a 1/2 size larger in some earlier posts.
