Is it fake? Check out the Roam accessories part, and greyscale image next to full colour.
If it's not fake it's a terrible piece.

I believe they fixed that w/ V2. I have ridden with friends on Garmin's and they have given wrong readings for the same ride. The biggest is significantly lower climbing gain as well as avg speed. I mean, how can you get avg speed wrong if both are going the same distance and time? Give it a shot!cleanneon98 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 5:21 amI mean it's already undercutting the 1050 by $100 in the US and their freeride summit is basically climb pro. Could be good, I've been reluctant to go back to wahoo due to my V1 Bolt and V1 Roam both being awful at GPS tracking for mountain biking, will see what DCR says
Touch screen on bike computers is not an appeal for me. It does not work so well in a wet environment.
I want a computer to display information, perhaps routes on some occasion. Very little more than this. I liked the original Wahoo ELEMNT and later the Bolt because they allow me to do configurations in the app to setup the computer data fields. The use of the computer was very simple.
The only reason I might be interested in this is for the aero sensing. But only as a curiosity.

Luckily computers like the 840 can 100% be controlled by button presses in addition to the touchscreen.
It works very well with rain. Lock the screen, use the buttons or di2 satellite shiftersTobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 6:06 pmLuckily computers like the 840 can 100% be controlled by button presses in addition to the touchscreen.

I would be very surprised if the Ace couldn’t be controlled by buttons only.
As for the weight penalty, not ideal, but I’d gladly give up 100g for good battery, nice readable screen, and the Summit and Strava Segment features (which, IMHO, is better than Garmin).
The wind sensor is a huge and awesome bonus.

Obviously. My point isn't that the phone is a better bike GPS, but that the Wahoo is heavy as shit.
It's an issue if the route is anything other than a straight line.howaboutme wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 2:05 pmI mean, how can you get avg speed wrong if both are going the same distance and time? Give it a shot!

yes, the route is not a straight line, quite the opossite actually, but why would it deviate? I'm talking .4 mph or more. We're riding together. Sure, we may not take the same line's everytime but it shouldn't really deviate.BigBoyND wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2024 7:48 amIt's an issue if the route is anything other than a straight line.howaboutme wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2024 2:05 pmI mean, how can you get avg speed wrong if both are going the same distance and time?
