The Giant stems for their internally routed road bikes route the cables through a channel on the underside of the stem. That means that when you take the bar out of the stem, you will have some slack. It's not going to as much slack if you're running the hoses through the channel in the middle of the bar clamping area (versus when you use to have a bit extra wiggle from where the tape ended too), but you'll have far more freedom than bikes that are full routed through the stem.

Thanks. Haven't seen that angle of the stem, but looks like something tolerable when packing a bike.

Have done two trips with my 24 model, once in a cardboard box & once in an Evoc bag. No issues either trip. Packed down just fine. Dare I say easier than my rim brake BMC teammachine.

Thinking of going the Defy SL frameset route and then building up with the spec I want, quick query, can I use another stem / bar combo and still have fully internal, thinking Pro Vibe Aero carbon bar or the Enve SES AR bar and then a -7 degree or so stem.
Bikes:
2024 Giant Revolt Adv Pro - AXS Eagle XX1 / Force D2 / GRX820
2020 SystemSIX Hi-Mod - Dura-Ace Di2 12 Speed
2021 Giant TCR ADV Pro Disc - Ultegra Di2 12 Speed
2020 Giant Revolt ADV 2 - SOLD May 2024
2019 Genesis Team Zero Disc - SOLD Oct 2020

The bar you can. The stem if you can use any other than giant own stems please let me know which. I would like to use a non -10 degree stem but the defy steerer is D shaped

This has been posted on the threads for Propel and TCR, but Deda makes a spacer to use their stems on the new Giant steerers - https://dedaelementi.com/giant-d-shape-spacer

Undoubtedly there are others who make the same product, and hopefully don't charge 30 Euro for it.

You can definitely get that 3D printed for pennies. That is so exorbitant it's just funny.

My question is can you run a regular fork in a giant frame?

How would you guys compare the Defy 2024 to race-aero bikes like the SSE, Tarmac or Madone? Is a lot of performance left on the table? Tour magazine tests show its plenty stiff, I wonder how aero it is.

Compared to those, at the tour reference speed for testing, I'd spit some 20w difference.
