Little tip for anyone who doesn't like the fact that the Spesh mount tilts down instead of level.. I put a small piece of bartape (approx 10mm x 4mm) on the lowest inside edge of the mount (between mount & bars), so it is hidden, but keeps the mount & Garmin level.
Are any of them actually tilted down? I looked at a few and they all including mine set parallel to the ground. Since the stem is -6 degrees it creates an illusion that the mount is tilted down but it's actually not. I see it's a common complain and was concerned miself before I got my Rapide bar.

Is your like that too?
Mine was definitely tilted down (checked with spirit level), and have seen a few others similar pictured in this thread as well. I suppose it depends on your frame size as that will dictate the head tube angle, maybe smaller (54 & below) frame sizes it's less of an issue? My frame is 56 (also a SL6), it was a few mm's tilted down but with the sliver of tape it is now level. Prob would have got used to it, but you know how it is with those things, once you see it, you can't unsee it! :D
I have size 54 and mine is flat. Actually showing 0 degrees when I measure. I just saw friend's size 56 bike and it's also flat. Per Specialized website head tube angle varies by very little from 52cm to 58cm frames.

Either you have defective unit or one of us can't measure.

Maybe it's only an issue with SL6 and not SL7... I didn't take a pic of mine beforehand, but it was definitely tilted down (altho marginal, a few mm). See page 46 for similar issue and pic, its also a SL6 so maybe it is just confined to SL6.

The SL6 and SL7 have the same geometry... i mean, there are some very, very minor differences, but not in the areas that would effect what you're claiming. To me, the picture on page 46, looks like the person is using the largest Garmin and didn't have it seated in to the mount properly. To be honest, I'm not even sure the newest, large size Garmin fits... I feel like I saw people complaining about that somewhere.

yeah, that's prob not the best example, as the newer garmin doesn't fit well it seems. I'm using an Edge 530, I think for the most part, it's not noticable until someone would point it out, but I've measured on 2 spirit levels, and definitely angled down... it's very marginal (but seen reported in other posts and websites, even on the official bars page as well https://www.specialized.com/au/en/roval ... er-reviews)

Even with my little bartape addition, mine is still a mm or 2 angled down, see pic below.

Why don't you guys just use the magcad version? They're lighter and position the head unit perfectly.

I'm fine with the Spesh one, and now have it angled the way I like. Don't like the look of the Magcad one.

Score! A few sizes were finally available last Thursday. I have got a 380 x 115 arriving this Monday: I can finally start building the bike.

Is anyone using the Alpitude mount?

Hi,

Installed today. Here are some photos as I promised.
Fork is now cca 4mm under the top of the clamp and comfortably above the upper skrew.
It is perfectly fine and safe to ride.
So if you want to ride this cockpit on slammed SL7 just contact @thestickybottle on Instagram and ask for 10mm SL7 dust cap for rapide cockpit.
Hi guys,
In case anyone is looking to install the Rapide cockpit on slammed SL7 I have one spare headset cover from @theStickyBottle available, 10mm height, for images see the quoted post.

price 25€ + shipping(I'm from Slovakia. Within EU I can use post tracked package, this should cost just few euros.)
Hi,
is the cover still available? I would take it with shipping to Germany.
You can write me, if it is still available.

Ride on, Benni
Thanks again for the spacer!
Now, here is my Setup with a 420/120 Cockpit and a Hidemybell Wahoo Mount.

I am very interested in finding out what combo of top cap you're running here. Looks fantastic

That seems like the original Aethos top cap. I wish I could get this aftermarket. Is very neat.

Got one of the 'unicorn' 380x115 bars... really happy with it, tidies up the front end, even on an SL6.

Hey everyone.

I have the roval Garmin mount and it seems there is some play between the gps and the mount. Sometimes I hear a rattle noise with road vibration.

It seems the gap between the Garmin adapter and the Garmin back over is bigger than it should be.

Is this supposed to be normal?
Or an aftermarket Garmin mount could solve the issue?
Anyone with this problem?
I'm considering buying a k edge mount just to solve it... Anyone with a k edge or maybe a frames and gear mount that can review if the gps gets fitted correctly without play?
The Garmin female plastic mount is the problem and it is not a standard model you can get because the screw holes are bigger - this for the roval mount.
I actually found replica roval mounts at AliExpress. I just need the Garmin adapter attached which is impossible to buy separate.

I wish they made a 380 x 130.

I currently 'have to' run a 400 x 135, which is too wide for me.

I ordered a Darimo but got refunded after waiting 6 months.

EXS never have stock.

I do like the Roval Rapide despite being a bit heavier than some, just which it came in more sizes. Not sure why production cannot be ramped up, the margins must be pretty good.

Is it sacrilege to run a bar/stem until you can find the cockpit you want?
