Is it not to compensate for needing to raise the saddle with shorter cranks?bmrk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:08 pmIn which case shortening the cranks would create the need to raise the bars?bobones wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:50 pmThanks, Andy. I appreciate the advice. Good point about needing to raise bars if I move to short cranks: I was thinking about getting 165s if I bought the whole groupset, and this was something I didn't consider.andy4g63 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 2:23 pmBike is looking great.
Get the new shifters and calipers, PERIOD...
About cutting steerer tube on bike, easy. Just remember is a 2 person job...
I would leave personally one big spacer, below and above the handlebars, not to mention if you decide to go with the short cranks route you'll need to raise the bars...
Speedy decals makes great stickers, I would suggest SRAM AXS RAINBOW/Holographico color for your frame...
The problem I have with decals is I wipe my bike after every ride and every time some microfiber strains get stuck in sharp corners.
If you go this route I would suggest clear coat it. I could send you some pictures...
Anyway, Cheers
Shorter cranks means a bigger hip angle that allows you to go lower while also increasing the reach if you move the saddle further forward.

+1000%. I moved my seat higher by 15mm (170 to 155) but kept the bar at the same height (the change was made on my prior bike). The aeroness of the new setup was noticeable via a higher avg. speed.
Are you then closing your hip angle back to what it was by not raising the bars when you raise the saddle?

You have to raise the saddle height if you need to keep the same leg extension at the bottom of the pedal stroke, and that will also open more the hip angle.
There is no real need for increasing/decreasing the bar height proportionally. Ususally if there is an aero motivation, raising the saddle and pushing it forward while keeping the bar height or going lower and eventually longer.
Is there a RD Hanger that will work with SRAM that's gold? I feel like there would be but either I'm bad at the internet or not sure what I'm looking for because all of them specific "for Shimano".

Sounds like you're looking at aftermarket direct mount hangers which only work with Shimano because SRAM doesn't use the same link piece that Shimano does (which those hangers replace).
Hi guys I want to replace the stock brake caliper mounting bolts on two bikes with titanium. I have dura ace 9270 calipers on my Tarmac Sl8 and 9170 callipers on my venge. Can someone please tell me the exact length bolts I need and how many please.

You are looking for a run of the mill standard derailleur hanger. Not a direct mount hanger. Places like wheels manufacturing will have what you want. Can't comment whether gold will be an option, but you can't really see derailleur hangers in the way you can direct mount.Tpduke112 wrote:So which one is a direct replacement for use with a Red E1 RD?cleanneon98 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 12:58 pmSounds like you're looking at aftermarket direct mount hangers which only work with Shimano because SRAM doesn't use the same link piece that Shimano does (which those hangers replace).
Never cheer before you know who is winning
Yep totally get that (that you can't see them) but still want it as a touch but black is the only color available for them.wheelbuilder wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 1:22 amYou are looking for a run of the mill standard derailleur hanger. Measure the chainstay thickness.
The diameter of the chainstays for the SL8 is 25mm. You can use this length when ordering bolts of type C and C2, here:

Hello.Kardinal wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 7:02 pmI have got now 3 SL8´s in our house and the fork of the first one had definitely a centering problem (Sworks frameset, RTP, bought in September 2023)! My dealer opened a warranty claim and I got a new fork (thanks to Specialized!!) - the same wheel with the same tire was then centered in the new fork!
My wife bought a SL8 (Pro Frameset) in Apri 2024 and there was also no issue… all wheels we have were centered in the fork!
Now in November 2024 I just received a warranty Sworks sl8 frameset (crack in the downtube of my rtp frameset) - the front wheel is also 100% centered in the new fork! I think there was an issue with some forks in the beginning of the sales start of the sl8 (my dealer had 3 complete Sworks bikes in his shop at sales start and 2 of it had the issue and one was aligned perfect).
Look at my pictures…first fork from the rtp frameset with the issue and second fork of my newest warranty frameset without the issue… I‘m not a technician but you can easily see a problem here (always the same wheel which is centered)!
I'm just wondering. Did you have to send your fork for analysis?
Basically specialized asked my fork for analysis. The deviation I have on mine is around 2 mm which doesn't make possible to fit 32c.
If I'm advancing with this process I think I'll be without the bike for at least 3 weeks.
And I'm wondering if they have stock forks with the same color.
Would appreciate your feedback and more details about your case.
Thanks!
