Thanks all.

I'll see what the LBS says as I was also not sure how to proceed. I'm pretty sure it was there from the beginning though.

I'd leave it alone. Being that the S-Works looks like a sticker applied on top of the frame, you have an unpainted frame; it just has clearcoat on it. That will be the first of many small chips (until it's painted or re-clear coated. As posted earlier in the thread, I had mine reclear coated with decals painted under the clear coat. It's less expensive than getting it painted.

Updated with Matte "Oro" (Gold) decals from Speedy Decals. Happy with how they turned out. Going to have some proper pics taken.

Probably put 100 miles on it and it feels much much snappier than my Bianchi's. Super happy with it and can't wait to race it. Will post a build thread with each individual part weighed once I have some pics taken.

New look for Quick-step, can see later on the video the 'specialized' on the fork is red too.

Always impressed by the weights I see. Picked up my second SL8 yesterday. 56 RTP, Roval Rapide CLXII with Roval Team Hubs, SRM with Look Carbon cranks, GP STR 28 and 30, full DA - still leave me with 6.9. Same as my Project Black.

Man it's funny you say that. Not that I care about the weight of other people's bikes but some of the bikes I see posted at 6.x kg, I'm like "did you weigh it without pedals and the rear wheel?? lol. I get people really care about that number but it's only as useful to me as I can compare it between my own bikes in ride-ready spec.

I think the biggest difference in our builds is the wheels/rotors and maybe the titanium bolts? How much do those rovals weigh?

The weight is on the wheels. Those Rovals are outdated. If you equip with Farsports, CRW, No6, etc (chinese carbon spoked wheels) you easily drop 180 grams

Yep. Told them it was for an SL8 and they put in that transition then a stack 10 and 5s.

Folks,

What's the general consensus about for fork expanders?
Do I have to use the original one for safety or are others also acceptable?
I would like to use the one from Aethos.

I use the Carbon-Ti one, works well, comes in at 13.8g. You can go lighter (Extralite Ultrastar4) but that comes with (stress concentration) compromises that I wouldn’t accept.
S-Works SL8 - 6.19Kg/13.71Ib
Cervelo S3 Disc - 6.78Kg/14.94Ib
Scott Addict RC - 6.92Kg/15.25Ib
OnOne - Free Ranger - 8.68Kg/19.1Ib
Scott CR1 - 5.69Kg/12.54Ib

I'm changing my cranks to SRAM red axs e1 dub.... can anyone recommend a decent dub bsa compatible bottom bracket without breaking the bank. From what I hear the sram dub bb iOS not very good.
I bought this one from Bikone.
https://www.bikone.com/producto/dctech-bsa-68-73mm-dub/

I have not ridden it yet. Still building up my bike. It is very well constructed though and I like the extended sleeve design.
Did you fit this Bottom bracket yet?... and if so what do you think of it and what spacers did you need on DS and NDS.... thanks.

Am afraid you are right. Seems I missed a year or two in term of weight development. With the Team hub they are 1380g.

I got talked out of not using the stock one even though it is heavier. Can't remember the logic but something safety when it was introduced for the SL7.
