You really don't need to worry about stiffness. The cranks are massive, and the axle is 29mm, so potentially stiffer than 24mm axles. I have had zero concerns with mine.robmuc wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 12:34 pmThanks for the feedback. Witing for mine to arrive.RobinDuraAce wrote: ↑Mon Apr 29, 2024 12:48 pmWell, don't know what to say exactly. I don't notice anything during my rides, so no noises or other things. Bearings are good after 8000kms, but I don't ride in the wet with this bike. Weight saving is fine and no cracks or something in the crankarms. Thread for the pedals still fine and general no problems. Would recommend it! But I think a SRAM Red with a spider is maybe 20-30 grams more heavy but less expensive. But couldn't find good deals for 170mm, so Cybrei it is
I am just a bit worried about the stiffness of the crank. You wrote that you are light, I am on the other hand weight 80kg so quite a bit of force on the pedals during efforts.
Also bit of a weird one but I think I saw you selling stuff on ebay (your nsws and recognized your foil from the forum)
Would you mind sharing some more thought about potential upgrades in the foil ? could go for a ride together

"zwatt" there's a name I've not heard for a long time. Kaput since 2021.xsnailx wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 9:35 amkeep in mind that clavicula se - with zwatt powermeter is 302g in 172,5 wich is unbeatable. Quality of clavicula has been proven for years but the wait time at thm is unfortunatelly very long.Matte86 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:50 pmI didn’t know that!Beancouter wrote:THM sell a 165mm too!Matte86 wrote: Clavicula SE is still lighter, but it comes only with the ‘standard’ 3 sizes 170/172.5/175
I think that a PM9 with THM cranks, bar the price, is still lighter
The closest to it is a sanded down Red cranks with a Quarq
I have a Elilee incoming. If you buy their carbon spider (30g) and x-novantna arms (280g), and add in some extralite chainrings, should be able to get a full crankset for about 420g. They are not cheap though !
I have gone for the basic DUB crank (320grams) and alloy spider (50 grams) as there appears to be some concern over the carbon spindle on the x-novanta. If I like it, and can be bothered with the admin, I might ask 4iiii if they will install a PM (10grams). That would give me a full power crankset for about 485grams.
They also sell a non-power 4 arm spider that is matched to Shimano chainrings, which should look good.

When I looked into it, before purchasing DA9200, it wasn’t available and I emailed them but they told me it wasn’t possible to have in that size
It has been a year or so I haven’t looked into their website so they probably have added it in the meantime
So comparing weight a 172.5 SE is 293grams, a X-novanta 310 grams so it’s a 17grams difference not bad
How’s the stiffness of the X-novanta?
Where did you purchase it?
Thanks

Now I'm sure ppl have bought this so any reviews? also anyone bought the Eililee Cranks and well. Not many reviews on insta or YT.
Got rid of my THMs cranks and went back to Shimano DA as the THM was fiddled with preload and being 85kgs any steep out of saddle climbing it was noisy as F@ck! Would love some real world reviews

Had my preload adjuster bolt shear, which resulted in the adjuster eventually moving around and causing play in the cranks. Panda Podium are shipping a new one out to me. Overall they've been great otherwise. Using with DA92 rings and the same chainring bolts from the DA92 crankset. I'll maybe give the Cybrei or Carbon Ti rings a shot in the future, but I am content... for now.

Currently using a DA crank with 54/40
Been looking at the cybrei with a power meter and intrested in what the total weight is with a Xcadey PM.
Im also lookimg at Eililee Cranks as well, this crank style seems to be popping up and the design look very generic.
Eiliee have a Carbon Axle at 275-280grams and I have been commnincating with them as I am instrested in a 24mm Titanium Axle.
Currently there X320-24 is 320gram but they have a slight upgrade coming X310-24 SO 310grams and at the end of the year they have the X-Trecento this is currently undergoimg testing 24mm Titanium axle at 290g!!
Cybreis also have a 24mm Titanium Axles September this will be 340Grams

Hey Beancouter
Did you get the Elilee X-Novanta?
I was a bit unsure about the carbon axle although I have had the THM crank and you have to check it or send it back to them after 10,000km to be check so I am concerned about wear.
Being eyeing up both Elilee and Cybrei DUB. Then thinking shoukd I get 24mm Ti Elilee and the Cybrei also have one coming out September so cannot make my mind up.
I was told go for DUB over the 24mm although I am running DA on my SL8 so no need for a new BB.
To much choice so cannot make my mind up.
Your thoughts or advice or experiences from anyone else would be great!

Just curious as a thm clavicula owner myself - does anyone really send them back for checking, and are there reported cases of failure which resulted from. Them. Not being checked past 10k km?
The Eiliee ti axle crankset is news to me, any source or info about it currently?

Having DA9200 on my bike, I’m as well interested into the 24mm version
I have read somewhere (I can’t recall where now, maybe here?) the potential issues of carbon axles, but not from people actually using them, rather from an engineering standpoint, maybe safety concerns?
It seems there’s no one with direct experience of it.. maybe everyone is getting the non carbon axle in the first place in order to stay on the safe side
