Thanks for the reply. It's an older R5 so the comparison is this.

Am running a 100mm stem on the R5. There is a lot of seat post extension but still within the limit.

Maybe I'm too small for a 54 SSE. Also matybe I'd reach the maximum seat post extension.

Are there any 179-180cm people here? What size are you on?
Just measure your saddle height and compare it to the seat tube length. This will tell you how much extension you'll have and If the post is Long enough.
With the slacker head tube angle in the SSE, the standard stem with 8° angle will point upwards, effectively increasing stack a lottle more which should be in your favor.

Numbers have all the Info you need.

If I wanna get the Hylix seatpost - is it eBay only, or is it available on Aliexpress or some other site? Honestly buyer protection is better on Aliex that's why I'm asking.

Can anyone recommend a -17° stem that would work cleanly with the SSE? I know it's heavy but I really wish you could get a Conceal stem in -17°.

I'm not opposed to running the hoses under the stem if it looks clean and will be using Enve SES Aero bars. Thanks!

I use a 130mm -17 Kalloy Uno with Enve SES. Works great, hose runs are clean and out of the wind as the bottom bolts and computer mount are directly in front. For me there is no reason to go integrated.

Does anyone have non-catalogue photos of the SuperSix Evo 2 in Metallic Red? Sounds like it's a colour coming next month, but it's hard to get a read on what it's going to look like based on the catalogue photo... and Cannondale seems to be really hit & miss with their colours of late.

Tried another stem option. SL7 -12° with the specialized transition spacer. Not perfect but good enough.
Cables not routed clean yet.

I am 180.5cm (85.5 inseam). I agonised between 54 and 56 and ended up consulting two bike fit experts (both with pro cycling backgrounds). They looked at me on my Argon 18 Nitrogen size M (which is described as 54/56) and both were adamant I should be on a 56. I built it up minus cockpit and then had a fit, ending up with a 110mm stem and not as slammed as I had the Argon. I can't confirm the ride as I am waiting on the arrival of a Tavelo Avro cockpit (with Conceal Stem/ Prime Primevera handlebar waiting as back-up if I don't like the lack of adjustment with the one piece). But I don't regret going with the the 56 in terms of the look of the fit. There's 180mm of seat post showing and minimal stem spacers. Can't wait to get it finished.

Hey there,
I am a little smaller than you with 178cm. However with an 85 inseam, which is quite long for my height, my insights might be valuable for you.
First you have to recognize that the SS Evo compares fits quite "large" compared to other models, at least in my humble opinion. Additionally the top tube is more or less parallel to the ground and is not as downward angled or sloping to the back. Absolutely no idea how to correctly explain it in english but I hope you get what I mean.

Long story short: 178cm, 85 inseam and 74.6 seat height. I am riding a size 54 frame. My seatpost sticks out around 19-20 cm. From there on you still got minimum 7 cm of seatpost left to the minimum insertion depth. I hope that answers some of your questions concerning the insertion depth. I have to admit that I have shorter arms so the smaller frame lenght might fit me better than my inseam might suggest. With 100mm stem, 80mm reach Pro Vibe Aero Superlight and 2.5 cm of spacers I indead sit super comfortable and not to sportive.

Going to build up a Himod frameset (2024) soon. If I read this thread;
  • I will be running Di2, so from what I gather the frame does not come with K14102 - S6 EVO DT Battery Mount Electronic?
  • Any other frame parts not included?
  • Is there a definitive view of the length of brake caliper mounting screw sizes to use?
  • Make sure cut the fork at 0mm not -1/-2mm!

What would you pick from these two options for the cannondale:
1.hi mod ultegra (with hollow gram rsl50)
2. Evo 2 ultegra (and upgrade wheels to reserve 42/49 (just like them , haven't ridden)
Price comes almost exactly the same (although in second option I'm left with two sets of wheels because the store won't take them back)
Are the rsl50 good enough wheels to go for the hi mod option?
I'm a heavy rider so 100 grams means nothing really...

The weight difference of the Hi Mod never really seemed to hit a value level for me. The Evo 2 has always been a great level. And if you end up with two sets of carbon wheels, that's surely worth more (whatever you do with them) than the minor weight savings or potential future resale of the frame.
