Evening all,

I was doing some intervals today and half way through a sprint my power meter started going all over the place and then stopped displaying power altogether.

I assumed it was the batteries but when I got home I saw that a part had come off - is this likely to be the root cause?

Does anyone know what it’s called so I can get hold of a new one? I’m guessing spindle cover or something, but I’m unable to find anything.

They’re S-works power cranks..

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks

Looks like it's just the crank bolt extractor cap. I'd check with a Specialized dealer to see if it's a part they could order, but there's a reasonable chance that the cap from another crank might fit too, so worth seeing what the shop may have at hand.

Here's an example of one from FSA

Perhaps also worth noting, that shouldn't have any impact on your power reading, so likely best to charge / change your batteries too.

Thanks JS, that’s good of you. I didn’t think it would affect the PM, but it just seemed too much of a coincidence that it went haywire right when it got lost
