Yes, but this is 400€ cheaper than the cheapest steel, which is the Veloheld IconX.
2X drivetrain compatibility is mandatory, as well as minimum 700x45 clearance (700x50 would be much better).

Has anyone identified the "designer" yet?
It sounds more like someone who's specified some geometry and something that looks pretty without focusing on any of the details... Like tolerances or quality control.
And then farmed it out to the cheapest sweatshop he can find

Yeah, buy the bike from the shop, it's the best deal. I would if i were you.
