Also works with GRX shifters - I'm running 8100 calipers with RX-815 shifters on my new gravel bike.

Can confirm BR-R9270 work just fine with R8070 shifters. They were also easier to center and tighten correctly vs the old Ult calipers they replaced. Barely noticeable increase in the lever free stroke, which I stopped noticing after maybe 30km.

No rubbing too?

Not a single rub in yesterday's ride with 3100m elevation gain and some steep technical descents. I'm pretty heavy on brakes, this was the main reason I wanted to try the new calipers. I'm using XT/XTR rotors.

Nice! Hmm I just had my rotors swapped and waiting to get my bike back from the shop, if I'm still having issues after pad wear in I think I will look at doing this...

Yes.
Pad clearance is increased because of more pad roll back.

On new caliper, old lever: you'll have a tiny bit longer lever throw before the pad touch the rotor than with old caliper.
ST-R8020 shifters (11s ultegra) with BR-R9270 calipers (12s dura ace) here.
I confirm : pad clearance is increased (no more rubbing) compared to BR-R8070 calipers, same braking power but my experience is that the longer stroke of the lever is noticeable, so less "bite" and more modulation. Do you think that the longer free stroke can come from a poor bleeding ? (the brakes don't feel spongy but not "direct" neither")
