At least in the US, the Addict RC is $1500 cheaper than the SL7 - I'd need a pretty compelling reason to choose the SL7 at current prices.
I was about to comment on bb and such, but for udi2 it doesnt matter.
For the same price id take sl7 but if addict is cheaper - happy to take that

I tried my daughter's SL7 (fact10 frame) and found it pretty "dead", not as snappy, lively as my 12 years old Norco. It felt smooth and "stable" steering though. Can't comment on S-Works version. But wouldn't change my old bike for the fact10 SL7 frame.

If you can ride both, you should try each out. Scott is historically cheaper and I think that's still the case. We also have a Scott dealer but no Specialized dealer in town so that would make me lean to the Addict RC.
The SL7 is probably slightly more aero, but at non pro level speeds I'm not sure it makes much difference.

I've both the FCAT10, FACT11 and FACT12 Specialized to S works bike/frameset. I can tell u bllind folded which is which.....especially between a Specialized SL7 vs a S works SL7 or Aethos FACT10 vs FACT12 S works version.
The S-Works version of SL7 or Aethos with FACT12 carbon is snappy and reactive, beside being as comfortable as FACT10..............this is something I give it to the engineering team at Specialized.

Sl7
- bsa threaded bottom bracket is usually better than bb86
- more aero
- more tire clearance, little bit
- easier to deal with spacers under the stem
- slicker seatpost clamp
- more gc wins if you care about reputation or achievements of your bike
Addict rc
- you can get bargain prices

I think these are two bikes that share quite similar performance attributes. Consequently I'd suggest thinking about some of the other factors that might influence your decision ie how each bike looks, colour scheme, brand value, commonality in your area, how well each one fits, upgrades that you might do and the cost implications etc.
Having ridden both, go for the sl7 for pure adjustability and maintenance alone. The addict wont take third party bar and stem and their range options and angle adjustment are limited, more so if you take the integrated ic sl bar. The ride is nice but so is the sl7.
Fits is the most important thing on a bike the better you fit the bike the better your ride is - in both power output and comfort. Don’t opt for a self imposed limitation like non 3rd party compatible cockpit set up even though it may be cheaper.
The sl7 non s works version if you lighten it enough it will feel snappy. The s works is super snappy.

Do you see any bias?BigBoyND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 7:01 amSeems totally unbiased. Hahareq110 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 6:07 amSl7

I don't. Let me prove:
- bsa threaded bottom bracket is usually better than bb86 >> that's a fact, bb86 is very prone for lower bearing life and most of people i know prefer threaded over pressfit
- more aero >>> addict rc tests around 220W, while tarmac around 210W
- more tire clearance, little bit >>> addict RC 30mm, tarmac 32mm with 4mm either side
- easier to deal with spacers under the stem >>> spacers on sl7 can be moved or removed without cutting hoses, that's not the case with addict rc, at least firstly, maybe nowadays they provide different ones
- slicker seatpost clamp > that's a fact
- more gc wins if you care about reputation or achievements of your bike

Lol yes of course I see bias. You cherry picked random benefits of the SL7 (some even completely meaningless like GC wins), and then gave the Scott points for price and nothing else, despite it being a good bike.req110 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 11:02 amDo you see any bias?BigBoyND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 7:01 amSeems totally unbiased. So what is the advantage of Scott Addict RC over the SL7 except the price? I am interested.
You say meaningless, but i prefer more aero, i prefer BSA over pressfit, i appreciate more tire clearance.
Section about GC wins has "if you care about reputation or achievements of your bike" !!! So not important for me, but others may care.

All the points Req110 mentioned in favor of SL7 > Scott is 100% valid.
Like there is no reason to argue against it, it is true!
Adding the fact that Venge and now SL7 are some of the most beautiful frames ever made.... Both aesthetically and performance-wise. One should have strong reasons to buy a Scott over any other brand if money is not an issue!
