My LBS submitted the claim with pictures, so hopefully I'll be able to ride it until a replacement comes in, if they approve it. I'm one month out of warranty, but I'm hoping SRAM will go ahead and cover it if it's a well known issue. Lucky thing is the plastic cover is really just a cover, so you can ride the bike without any problems.
