The Canyon was pretty close to vaporware for the past 12 to 18 months. It is becoming available now, and the builds are well priced and pretty interesting (the Rotor DA9200, DT looks really good imo).
Canyon loses points for lack of adjustability. There's lots of innovation in handlebars at the moment in my opinion (for example Speeco) and so being able to fit 'standard' parts is important. I'm 184cm and ride a 38cm bar day to day (and would like to try going down to 36cm) and know folks who race on 28cm bars! The Canyon CP0018 only goes down to 39cm... All well and good having a quick bike but if you can't get yourself into an optimally fast position comfortably it's kind of pointless.
For sake of curiosity i asked Canyon if they can change lenght of the cockpit before they ship the bike.
Nope, you have to do it yourself + pay full retail for a version of your desired lenght (and width).
And that's if any are in stock. And yeah, slap a 36cm bar on a competitive bike and now it's faster than any aeroad. That and the bizzare seatpost design has made me lose all faith in canyon and their engineering. How can you take them seriously?
Slap a 36 cm bar on an SL Aeroad and it's faster than the top of the line CFR. And at least as fast as any other bike out there with a 36 cm bar.

Mm, check which brands aren't compatible with those Cadex rims!!
I really dislike the new hookless trend. Sadly, many brands are designing hookless rims these days
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

Hookless might need some refinement to become a proper standrad for compatibility with tires. But I'm sold on the strength of the rim. I hit an exposed man hole cover (it was sticking 10cm above the ground) and broke the tire bead in the process. Fortunetly wheel did not sustain any damage. I'm pretty sure regular crochet rim would not survive head on colision as this.

I have carbon clincher wheels for 20+ years, raced several through “manhole cover Grand Prix” circuits. Without a single breakage… While hookless may have benefits (on good roads I don’t see many), I won’t pursue some theoretical benefit that do not even happen once on a blue moon.

When they first posted prices the Advanced SL was $10,000USD and the Advanced Pro was $5,800USD now the prices are $12,500USD for the Advanced SL and $8,000USD for the Advanced Pro.

That probably puts it out of the price I'm willing to spend on a bike.
a friend of mine managed to secure a "custom build" deal in asia. essentially an SL 0 but without the power meter for 7k USD. i think Giant may be going down the "seemingly deep discount bargain" route. with other companies raising their price well above 10k retail, they may be seen as "cheap" if they dont follow suit, but rather set th retail very high but constantly be sold at discounted price.
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.
n+1...14 last time i checked, but i lost count

I was kind of hoping they wouldn't and instead start releasing Cadex branded road frames to compete at the S-Works, Pinarello price point.

Or it's just the dealer taking off the power meter and replacing it with normal cranks and calling it "custom"

i dont have the exact details but he said it's an SL1 with parts ripped out and build to close to the SL 0. the whole thing started with SL0 frame in the colour he wants has a very long waiting list, so the dealer suggested he can get the SL 1 and build from there.
