What do you all think about the Total Energies frame sponsorship? Maybe it's the team, but it feels like a total miss to me. I am a casual pro tour fan, but never seem to see the team or their bikes. What was the idea behind this sponsorship? Pro Tour experience and potential athlete-developed product for relatively cheap? (compared to other teams).

I get it's a lot easier and cheaper to put them on their mass-produced frameset, but why not put them on their custom road? Just some thoughts. To me they get a lot more marketing out of UAE

I think Enve saw it as a opportunity to get some exposure and pro race cred for the Melee. TE doesn't have the uci points to auto invite to marquee races but they show ok for a second tier team.

There's your issue. You don't watch enough cycling.

Currently they're riding Paris-Nice and they've already been in 20 other races, most of which were broadcast on Eurosport / Discovery. They're also lined up for Gent-Wevelgem, Milan-Torino and Dwars door Vlaanderen amongst others this month.

lol I've watched all those races. Casual in the sense that I don't know names of all the riders. Seems like Tudor pop a lot more. Especially for being in all black

Is not a matter of having or not having UCI points. Team TotalEnergies is an UCI Pro Team and not a World Tour team, that is why they need to be invited to tours or races. There can be only be 18 World Tour team so is difficult to move to that tier.
Having said that, I see the Enve bikes on TV as I try to watch as much cycling as I can. Their design with the white square logo on the head tube is rather visible.

I don't think anyone here said they were World Tour.
When Sagan was on the team, they got more high profile invites.
In the races they have been on, the bikes are visible I agree. They do alright.

They really need to go back to the drawing board on the paint scheme. Totalenergies has a decent kit but the Enve bike is probably the most boring one in the peleton. Missed opportunity for sure. Ive watched a lot of Paris Nice and the Enve gets no love from the cameras despite being at the pointy end on multiple breakaways. Totalenergies is riding well though.

ENVE's art director/team (if there is such a thing/title) need to get together with YS Paint for their selection of road bike colors. That aegean blue is nice, but there are such a wide spectrum of colors, even understated, that pops.

ENVE: What color are your kits? We'll do a custom paint job.
TE: They're bright colors, white with blue and red. Very colorful.
ENVE: We gotcha covered. Makes a black bike with a tiny bit of blue.

🤦🏻‍♂️

They could have made such cool paint jobs to match the kit. But you get black. They almost look like unbranded frames.

What I was trying to say and I guess I did not manage to say. Only the World Tour team are automaticaly registered for the the UCI World Tour one days races and tours. The reason Team TotalEnergies is not on all those UCI World Tour races is NOT because of UCI points, is because they are a Pro Tour team. The moment it comes to inviting Pro Tour teams, is just a matter of personal preferences from the side of the organisers. Spanish organizers are biased towards spanish Pro Tour teams like Burgos - BH, Caja Rural, Euskatel-Euskadi and there are like other 2-3, french ones are biased towards Total Direct Energies (the only french Pro Tour team), italian organizers are inviting Bardiani and Kometa and so on.
Having said the above, I think in this moment, watching Paris - Nice tour, there are two teams that are like invisible, Total DirectEnergies and Decathlon - AG2R La Mondiale. Is like a huge effort was put to make their bikes as boring as possible.

Looks like a combination of the Melee and Mog... I wonder what the geometry is. And that gray, I love it (sarcasm) geez.

I think you said what you meant to say, it's just not entirely correct. The 2 top-ranked PRT teams from the previous season (Lotto Dstny and Israel-Premier Tech) get automatic wildcard invites to all World Tour races. The 3rd place PRT team (Uno-X Mobility) automatically gets invited to all WT 1-day races. If TotalEnergies (they dropped "Direct" from their name starting in 2021) had earned more UCI points than Uno-X last year, they would get more wildcard invites to WT races. EtoDemerzel seems to understand this, but you're apparently unaware.
Anyway, TEN got one of the 2 discretionary wildcards to the Tour this year (Uno-X the other), which is probably more important to Enve than all the other races combined.
