Hi friends

what is objectively the best road crankset? Looking at weight, stiffness, durability. Let's not look at price for now.

I noticed that quite a lot of you seem to switch from a Dura Ace crankset to Rotor cranks, although the Dura Ace would have been the lighter option - why is that?

Cheers!

Main reason why I switched to Rotor Aldhu 24 is it's ease of use with many things on the market. Power meters, chainrings etc. So convenient.

Also big reason is THANKS SHIMANO!

I'm fairly sure that a Rotor Aldhu Carbon with a 30mm axle is lighter than a Dura Ace crank.

Not sure if it is the "Best" but THM Clavicula is certainly light, expensive and awesome looking.
Never used one myself.

Is there a better power meter option than the Sram Red AXS crank with a quarq spider?

Yep, I have both and the Rotor with direct mount rings is over 100g lighter.

I like Favero out of all the power meter options.

Everyone's needs are different but IMHO nothing beats Favero especially if you have multiple bikes.
I think a left crank option is the best - I can use it with both road and gravel setups unlike a road pedal and my Stages 386 carbon crankarm is actually lighter than the stock FSA k-force light one so the net result is a reduction in weight. I've used power meters since around 2005 and don't think dual-sided is much use for most people.

Best crank is Campy SR12. The look, finish, functionality and bearing/spindle/BB interface is butter smooth.

The original Wert chainset.

Last I heard they were designing 3D printed Titanium, but no news for a long time.

Damn that Wert crank is extremely light. Did they ever make it into production?
