Saw two new lids today whilst out riding.

Seemed to be the Specialized bunch doing some promo work before the launch.

Assume these will be launched very soon, looked great.

One very aero looking, almost POC like in some ways (new Evade), and the other had a lot more ventilation, so assume it's the new Prevail.

Very interested in this as I have a non-MIPS Evade 2 and keen to replace it with something with MIPS (or equivalent) soon.

You can always tell something is coming when they start selling off the old versions cheap (which seems to be happening everywhere right now).

Just picked up a Prevail II vent, for a nice price. Struggle to see them making a better lid. I still have a pre-mips Prevail II, which I wear all the time and weighs about 190g.

Would probably take forever to have them in stock but excited to see. I have used evade since the first gen. The second gen is really good with class leading aerodynamic and decent weight. Plus it’s not too dorky looking. Great strap and one hand release buckle. Cant wait to see the third iteration! The prevail is also way overdue.

They've started advertising them on instagram. At least I saw an ad for the ventilated one.

The S-Works Evade 3 is already on this website (added 2 days ago): https://www.performancebike.com/special ... p/p1428884

S-Works Prevail 3: https://specialized.co.th/products/s-wo ... 3-173730-1#
Apparently it's lower sitting which would be very nice.

Edit: already online with pictures here: https://specialized.com.tw/zh-tw/pages/ ... vade-3-tt5

Old Prevail looks a lot better in my opinion (except the straps not starting against your head) but that new Evade is yummy!

EDIT: That $300 on the Taiwanese website states that no price increase?

Anyone seen the weight of the prevail?

Really is a shame the Evade got so porky. My MET Manta is 240g in medium; Evade looks to be 70g on top of that. Also that giant central hole looks like a major attraction to bees and various other insects.... brr....

That one ia CPSC standard, usually 20% heavier than EN standard

I wish they would have focused on making it more aero and less on ventilation. I can always go for a more traditional helmet on hotter days but there is no hardcore aero road helmet which performs similar to tt helmets 🤦‍♂️

Seems like the evade got a longer tail, and no aero claims unless there's something not included in those websites. I'm pretty happy with my eclispe as it's faster than the old vanquish which seemed competitve with the evade 2.
