Thanks for all the details! It looks like a really great setup!

I'm also into long distance cycling and just picked up an S5 recently. I was using an Aspero-5 with a road wheelset, but after getting a dedicated offroad ride and noticing that I can replicate my fit on the S5 I thought I'd go full aero for my road ultra setup. I'm basically using the drivetrain from my Aspero with a larger 46T chainring and a lightweight Garbaruk cassette.
I also picked up the Hylix seatpost and a set of Enve SES RaceDays to shave off some more weight, but they're not on the bike yet.

One thing that I'm still trying to figure out is the storage. For really long distances requiring sleeping gear etc. I'm throwing on the Tailfin AeroPack, but I don't know where to store my pump and tools on my daily rides. Only having had Gravel Bikes with top tube mounts before, I got used to keeping all my essentials in a bolt-on top tube bag, but the S5 has no mounts and I don't like the look of strap-on bags. And all of the saddle bags I tried so far (which were able to fit a micro pump) didn't fit properly. I'm contemplating going for a 3D-printed solution like this one. How are you solving this?
Nice to see another simmilar build, nice job. Was expecting to run in to more based on that the stem and handlebar clamps allow for it.

For the bags.. really like the back printed option - for my needs I only use the bag for rides above 200 and more in the 300 range. And for those I use the new tailfin frame bag that fits perfectly and allows me to fill it with an absurd amount of food, battary pack to fill the wahoo and phone and etc...

For rides up to 200km I just use the USWC Ourlander pro / Race pro; the small 2l hydeation backpack. Superlight, ultra small and seems to approve the CDP and aero position as it acts as a back hump! Love that thing, and its quite cheap!

Do you have a picture of that frame bag on the bike?

Finally succeeded weight below 7 kilos!
6.685 thanks to Black Inc. 48/58 wheels; Comptufa prima tubeless 28 tyres; Overfast carbon thru axels and titanium bolts.

That's a beauty!
Well done!👊
Have you thought about a custom yellow color saddle from Berk, and a yellow color bar tape?😆

Thanks a lot! The yellow fly Deda handle bar tape has been purchased and is waiting for its turn. A very tempting offer regarding Berk Lupina yellow saddle but it will add 20 grams. It is possible to be compensated with YBN SLA 212 titanium gold chain :).

I was wondering, is there any aftermarket handlebar for Cervelo S5 ? Specifically for the V stem (ST35 stem)
With the aero trend nowadays it just doesnt make any sense for the stock handlebbar from cervelo, no narrow top with large flare on the drop

and with how other small companies such as SPEECO, etc, offering their own custom handlebar. I believe it is a good idea to develop a custom handlebar for the S5.

I see that some of you folks are also using the Hylix seatpost on your S5 builds. How are you faring with that?

I weigh 75kg and just cannot get this seatpost to hold at all. It'll slip a siginificant amount on pretty much every ride, no matter what I try - and I tried everything from varying amounts of carbon paste to glued on anti-slip tape. After two months of use, the seatpost already shows significant carbon damage from the slippage - to the point where I'm going to have to remove it because it's not safe to ride anymore.

No issues at all. I weight 88 kg, have the version for max 115 kg rider. No slip at all. Enough carbon paste, torque at 3.5 Nm (max 4.0 Nm), no issues so far.

In my build I use a custom adapter which is based on the bottom part of the fast TT cervelo S5 kit:
https://fasttt.bike/product/cervelo-s5- ... apter-kit/

I would add the comment, that the Fast TT kit is OK, but I had issues with fitting the bottom part to the handlebar and had to grind off some parts for them to fit.
In the end as I wanted a better fit to the Sync enrgonomics adapters, I just fabricated the bottom brackets myself (but the shape itself is based on the fast tt base).

Follow up to this.

One of my biggest issues past years personally was the Varia battery life. So I decided based on your exampe of the posted 3d printed solution to make a custom box, that will double in function as 1. Varia mounting place, 2. Back storage for Nutrition / Tools and extra battery to extend the Varia battery life.

Currently Im test 3d printing the moddeled shape, and to test some Lid covering solutions. Once the shape is final based on the frame, and the Lid design OK. I will 3D print the moulds and fabricate the final product in forged carbon. Bellow the sketch and the 3d moddel.

Hello, does anyone happen to have a proper and stable (may be 3D printed) seatpost mount for the SeeMee 300 Magicshine rear light? Thank you very much in advnace. The SeeMee 300 rear light uses a "garmin type" mount system.

Bijabec wrote:Hello all,
sharing my a bit "specific" build. Just have room for a single bike in my apartment, so I opted for the S5 with a TT aerobars setup instead of a dedicated TT bike. Im guessing this is now one of the lightest possible TT configurations but still not a dedicated one. The mount adaptors I fabricated at home.

Really suprised with the position achived in the end, super comfterable while still super fast.. I guess it would rival some dedicated setups with ease especialy on hilly courses.

Still have to weight the badboy tho, the photos are a bit old allready... the stem was droped all the way so it is without the spacers, and I replaced the selle italia with a Fizik adaptive TT seat that improves the extensions position and is far more forgiving on 150km + rides in all positions.

This TT adapter is really cool ! Have any plans to sell them ?
