About Cervelo S5 2023

To those of you riding Hylix seatposts on your S5, what torque spec are you all torquing the seatpost into the frame at? Cervelo lists 8Nm on the frame, but Hylix lists max 4.5Nm on the post. That's a pretty huge delta!

8Nm feels way too much with the standard seatpost, with some good fibre paste I have never had the standard or the Hylix seatpost slip with 4Nm

I even torque the stock seatpost at 5 Nm with NO issues (2023 model, enough carbon paste).

I have also used both Hylix models, the light one (145 gr) and the super light one (115 gr). I used 4.5 Nm in both cases with no issues.

I finally managed to reach 7.00 kg (2023 S5, size 56, full DA 9200, Quarq PM, Farsports wheels, Berk Dila saddle, Close the gap head unit mount, Hylix seaport 195 gr, [instead of the stock one at 245 gr. There is an even lighter Hylix at 145 gr].

Here is mine, size 51. Time Xpro 12 Sl pedals, Hylix zero seatpost, Berk Lupina 132 carbon mat saddle, Tune carbon bottle cage 2.0, SRAM red 10-33 cassette. Wheels: front - Zipp 353 NSW; rear - Zipp 454 NSW. Still above 7 kgs - 7.08 for now.

I knew I would be close because mine is 7.1kg with 1300g wheels and Dura Ace crankset. I'm considering the CRW wheels and Cybrie crank. I'm waiting for a discount code!

hi Everyone, I'm looking to purchase S5 2024 but have some concerns as I travel with the bike few times per year and that requires handlebars/cockpit to be removed for packing. How are you traveling with the bike? Is it any way to remove cockpit/handlebars easly without disconecting the cables. Any input/pictures would help. C heers
