Has any one physically confirmed that this stem adapter will not fit the 2022/23 model? Yea, I know it's assumed it will not fit based on model differences.
I'd really like to use my own (standard) stem/bar combo.
Thanks-

So the adaptor is a Cervelo part but you can't use it on the new bike.

No, it doesn't. The new S5 uses the new ST35 stem and it only fits the new fork. The previous S5 uses the C028 and it only fits the previous fork.

@Slotty could you please let us know what is the weight difference between the stock seatpost and the hylix one? Do they have the same length? Thank you very very much.
P.S. Please let us know about the length, because mine (the stock one seatpost is way far out of the frame as my saddle height is 80.1cm).

2023 Cervelo S5, size 56, sapphire/ice
I just ordered a Hylix seatpost for my 2023 Cervelo S5 Ultegra.
My porky pig S5 is going on the Weight Weenie's journey...
Impressions to date:
Compared to my 2020 S5, the 2023 S5 feels rock solid with almost no flex or creaks of any kind. Power transfer feels instaneous and the Enve wheels make this bike go fast with ease.
Parts list
2023 Cervelo S5 Ultegra
Enve SES 6.7
Enve Bottle cages
Specialized Romin Evo Power Mirror Saddle
Ebay special Ti saddle mount
Conti Grand Prix 5000 S TR, 30mm
Buplabs RCT715 mount
Garmin XC200 Powermeter pedals
Dura-ace cassette
XTR 160mm rotors

Can anyone who owns this bike talk about how it climbs (and descends)? Thinking about maybe getting the Ultegra Di2 version, but I live in the SF Bay Area so I definitely end up getting a lot of climbing on my rides. Just want to know that it isn't insufferable.
I'd be coming from a 56cm 2019 SL6 Tarmac Pro which weighs around 18 lbs anyways so wondering if it makes sense to get full aero benefits anyways while the bike ends up weighing about the same.

There's a review of S5 at youtube. That guy says the S5 isn't a bike for climbing.Sinicity wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 6:43 amCan anyone who owns this bike talk about how it climbs (and descends)? The SF Bay are is not the alps
Should be no issue with the S5, even the pros rode it on hilly routs instead of the R5...

I used to have a Cannondale Synapse and I think it was around 16-17 lbs or so and I really can't tell the difference from my 2023 Cervelo S5 when climbing. I live in the Seattle area and I love to do climbs and I don't think the extra weight makes that much of a difference especially given I'm not a tour de france elite athelete However, my 2023 S5 does feel rock solid and there is zero flex during power transfer on climbs and that translates into the seat of the pants perception of speed and immediate forward momentum.
As for descents, its awesome and the aero benefits really standout. There is a descent that I routinely ride on and on my Cannondale Synapse and 2020 S5 I've never been able to crack 35 mph when bombing down the hill. With the 2023 S5, I cracked 38 mph, which I've never done down that hill before.

Dang, that's baby hill! I do 45 mph daily on my CAAD10, Madone, etc. with box section wheels!

Can anybody give a little bit insight when it comes to powermeter clearance for the non-driveside type (4iiii and Stages)?
I'm in the process of ordering one of the Grand Slam Limited Edition framesets and plan on using an Ultegra groupset with a 4iiii Precision 3+ Powermeter.
Since I don't have a frameset here yet I'd like to ask if anybody has done it and can confirm clearance or if somebody with a Shimano groupset could do me a favour and measure it real quick. There is a clearance guide on the 4iiii website, which I could forward for the 2nd case.
Thanks in advance guys!

There (unsurprisingly) isn't, as it is proprietary to the S5 V-stem, and cannot be adopted to any other bike. Even Aliexpress clones (not encouraged!) go down to 380mm minimum.
However, at least on the previous S5 Disc, you could run also standard stem and subsequently any standard bar of your choice, I guess, the cable routing internals haven't changed that much for it not to be possible on the 2023 "facelift" model.
The fact that this would look ugly (I'm one of those who actually likes how the V stem looks on S5, slammed only, of course), is a different matter
