I use the SROAD 11-34 on all my bikes. One on mechanical r8000 GS, one on electronic R8000 SS, one on electronic R8000 GS. All of them work brilliantly. Maybe just a tad slower than Shimano cassettes in very rare occasions.
I used Sroad 11-28, but I didn't have good experience with it. It shifted slightly slower than UT/DA ones in 14-28 range and significantly slower in 14-11 range. Moreover, Sroad is extremely indurable. It started creaking within 5500 km and survived 8000 km w/ 6000 m climb, while a DA one survived 13000 km w/ 16000 m climb.

The quality of Sroad is no where near Shimano ones.

Edit: DA one survived 13000 km w/ 160000 m climb. missed one "0" in the original input

I broke an sroad after 2 rides. The rear spider completely bent and 3 of the arms detached from the little brass attachment points.

My JFOYH from Amazon with the larger alloy cogs has been flawless. Looks the same as other brands out there. I'm guess they are all the same, just a different name. Excellent shifting. Can't see any wear yet. Using waxed chains with it.

JFOYH 2022 New Ultralight Series 11/12 Speed Cassette for Road Bike 11-28T/11-32T/11-34T/11-36T Compatible with Standard HG Hub Driver Like Shimano and sram https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B123X9T/re ... UTF8&psc=1
How is the shift quality of the JFOYH?
I have a 11-36T JFOYH on my gravel bike. Can’t tell it’s an aftermarket cassette. I tried th SRoad and wasn’t as smooth shifting as the JFOYH. Had the cassette on for over a year now with some 60mi gravel rides…no issues. I was on the fence about getting a road cassette but they don’t make a 11-30T version so I haven’t yet.

All my chains are waxed if that makes any difference.

JFOYH ones are rebranded TRW cassettes and they are not as light as Sroad. IME the lighter the aftermarket cassette, the worse the shift quality.

TRW also rebrands the SRoad cassettes, they're called 'TRW SL'

Yes, the SL version is rebranded SRoad (while the normal weight ones are not). One of my friends used TRW SL and had the same issue as my SRoad one, we both switched back to Shimano ones.

I wonder who's the OEM behind those standard cassettes. Sunshine?

No idea, but I don't think that's Sunshine. Sunshine mainly produces entry level stuff. Might be Sunrace.

Durability has been fine for me. My first 11-34 SROAD cassette has around 2700km/56000m. It does not creak and has very little wear. I compared it against the my new SROAD cassette and it's hard to tell the difference between the used vs new one.

The majority of the time has been on the larger cogs since most of my rides involve a lot of climbing (average 50km and 1000m). I also use drip wax (Squirt) if that matters.

Here is a picture of the sroad cassette I had issues with. I got this one off Ali Express directly. I only noticed it after it started creaking really badly. No idea how this even happened. The anodizing got discolored when I was cleaning it, the chemical took some of it off. No more than 150 miles on it before this happened.

Thanks to all for the thoughtful replies. I'll probably give my stock Dura Ace derailleur a shot with an aftermarket cassette. I haven't sized a chain before. Does the standard test with the chain on the two big rings work (add two rivets to the rivet where they meet) for Shimano 11 speed?

I think the ceramic speed cages allow a larger rear sprocket.
Yes, they does.
