One extra point that seems to be lost in the Decathlon vs Canyon discussion is that Decathlon's physical locations may actually offer the opportunity (for many) to actually test ride the bikes. Even just being able to lay hands on them is better than nothing.

As someone who lives in what I'll lovingly refer to as an 'underserviced' bike market, I've purchased all my bikes for the last twenty years without seeing or riding them first. There is an extensive LBS network in my city, but I've mostly been riding high-end bikes and I'm 192cm, so no one ever brings those in as floor models.

If my local Decathlon were willing to bring in my size of a bike I was interested in and my test ride told me it was measurably better than the bike I'm on now (which is a high-end model from a major brand, but one that's 5 years old now), I suspect that and it maybe being $1,000 less than other offerings would be enough for me to not care if I'm riding a bike that's 110% better than my current bike vs 115% better.

That's very likely a sale made, in a way Canyon and other mail-order companies can't. Sure they can mail things out with a guarantee, but that's a lot more hassle than going into a local shop without committing anything more than the time to test ride.
In countries where cycling sport is not most popular sport Decathlon stores don't get highest end bikes to test out. Also RCR(and RCF) are order only and built to each client individually. But yes, I do agree having service is nice, meanwhile with Canyon even friendliest bike shops change tone when you mention it lol.

So 1x only? ...thinking back to the Softride bikes with that weird appendage for the front derailleur. Ewww.

Definitely no place for a 2nd bottle on this one, even though they have bosses for it.

Will be curious to see what it's for, but seems like a gravel bike.

Unless those bolts are for a frame bag.

But maybe on larger sizes it'll work with bottles

2nd bottle is on the seattube, you won’t fit a 1l bottle but a smaller one will fit with a side entry cage. They do this a lot on mtb’s

It's basically a rigid high-pivot URT, except less cool than an Ibis Bow-Ti.

There's no way ANY bottle cage fits on the ST of a smaller sized version of the frame. On some Cannondale MTBs, they just delete the cage bosses altogether on the smallest sizes.

Mtb uses 1x
Gravel uses 1x
Some roadies use 1x
Then you have new tech such as classified hub.

2x is a dying technology. They have to start thinking (designing) ahead.

Would this be a design for the new Roubaix too?
Looking forward until the release of this and interested if anyone on weightweenies will even post it as it's not as interesting as you think and not a roadbike ;)
