I'm pretty sure this would work but wanted confirmation from anyone that may know for sure. Would R7000 105 shifters work with R8000 Ultegra front and rear mechs, all 11sp? Thank you...

11 shifters will also work with Tiagra 4700 10s rear derailleur

Yep mix and match DA, Ultegra and 105, 11 speed on multiple bikes, zero issues.

Definitely go with DA chains, shifter cables and housings, the rest go with budget, sometimes minimal difference between DA and Ult.

I would say to go with the Ultegra (Optislik) shifter cables, as my experience with the DA cables is that the coating is quite delicate and eventually will gum up your cables and shifters.

However, since this is WW, I would note that there can be good value weight savings in unexpected places by upgrading to DA. For example, I believe the 9100 DA front derailleur is about 30 grams lighter than the 8000 Ultegra front derailleur, and when I bought my groupset (pre-COVID, admittedly) was only about $30 more expensive -- just about at the magical $1/gram weight savings mark! Other places, like the crankset, you pay a lot more for the grams saved by DA.

Never had a terrible gumming problem with DA, there are some surface low friction coatings that can build up in tight areas, but it seems like some kind of graphite/grease lube, but once this excess is removed the cables run slick for months, even in wet winters.

By the way, I have good experience mixing the Tiagra 4700 10 speed shifter with 105 R7000 rear derailleur. It works well.

Do you reckon it will also work with a Ultegra RX800 rear derailleur ?
