We can easily find out which products are the latest and greatest today by clicking "Sort by Price Descending" on the website of our retailer of choice. But what about components of the past? What used to be considered the ultimate in boutique bicycle customization?

Lately, I've been toying with the idea of retalizing some older bikes from the early 2000s to early 2010s era. I like to keep things period correct by matching the frameset with parts of the same vintage.

2000 to 2010 is the past?? I thought you meant prior to the 90's. 2000 to 2010 is no fun.

My 2002 Look 381i (a la Jaja) had:
Chorus groupo (10 speed, one more than Others)
Campagnolo Proton wheels with Veloflex Master tyres and latex tubes
Ritchey WCS bars & stem
Selle Italia Flite seat (not so sure about this one), on Look seatpost
Shimano SPD-R pedals
Ciusi bottle cages
I thought (still think) that was pretty on-point albeit Working-Class-Man, rather than best of the best.
Less is more.

I would have to say Campagnolo Record 10 speed groupo and Cycle Dynamics cassettes belong here. Wheels built by Troy Watson belong here too.Chris King headsets and BTP waterbottle cages could join the list too.

From the 80's, Mavic GP4 rims on Campag LF hubs with some quality tubs and 100psi
From late 90s, Cinelli Grammo stem - classic shape. Work of art.

Spot on.
Define "past" please.

Selle San Marco Concor (2nd generation) is the first thing that pop up in my head.
