Hi all,

I am looking for a newer aero frameset with direct mount rimbrakes. I have had a few disc brake bikes but decided I will be sticking to rimbrakes. Since the market and mainstream brands are pushing disc brakes, I was wondering what options I have. I am looking for a fast and stiff bike wich is UCI approved but doesnt't have to be a mainstream brand (Not looking for a open mould frameset).

A few options I already found:
- DEVEL A01 (proven in racing(not DM))
- Dogma F/F12
- Winspace T1500

If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

I still love my 2016 Fuji Transonic SL. Pretty light, pretty aero, DM brakes, pretty cheap (new was $2000 frameset). You might find one on the used market.

My 2019 Madone SLR rim brake comes with Trek's own proprietary brake calipers. An awesome bike! Sorry to be crappy photos.

Isnt the Winspace pretty much an open mould frame?

Anyways, 2nd gen. Canyon Aeroad rim brake is a great bike, and should be relatively easy to find used since they are not sold from new anymore

You can still get a new Factor One rim brake frameset. Not cheap though!

No it’s not a open mould frame. It was designed by an Italian Design house.

They do private label for some brands using their own mould. But that’s about it.

Cannondale Supersix Evo III.

They only sold them for just over one season but they do pop up on eBay every now and then.

There are 2 green ones on eBay at the moment (one unused in size 56). I built my 56 to just over 6kg.

The Canyon Aeroroad will probably be the lightest rim brake aero frameset and fairs well in wind tunnel tests based on old Tour Mag data.

IMHO the 2019 Madone SLR looks the cleanest followed suit to an older TimeMachine. The SLR most likely takes the cake for comfort.

The Basso Diamanté still comes in a rim brake version.
I love mine - really a great, smooth riding bike.

Tarmac SL6 would fit the bill. It's nearly as Aero as the SL7 when using the right handlebar and they seem to be pretty fast in the current stable of options.

Was also going to propose the SL6. I had mine setup as aero as possible and it was just as fast the Aeroad CF SLX I had previously.

It has some other qualities like weight and comfort compared to other aeroframes. Bike is very snappy/direct and fun once you start pushing it.
