What are we expecting from Specialized in '22?
Moderator: robbosmans
Since it's expectations and not so much wishes: at least one more substantial increase in prices across all models. People are still buying everything produced and production lacks behind, so no reason not to do it from a finance perspective.
As for new models: there were rumors of a new Allez being basically an aluminum SL7 (which makes sense if they can weld it like that), and also very hopeful for a re:venge, although mostly out of curiosity which way the marketing curve ball will fly this time to make previous absolute statements obsolete again

My bet is whatever surplus seat-posts they have the most of in the warehouse. They did a good job of clearing out the Gen 1 - Venge seat-posts this last time. Possibly SL6 or SL7 posts will be used along with current front forks.sam95 wrote:There was a Specialized Vaunt in the UCI frame approval list which disappeared after a short time. No further informations about that but I personally think it could be a new aero Bike from spec.

After seeing the aluminum Diverge with a formed toptube/headtube junction. I’d expect them to carry this over to the new Allez or whatever they want to call it and use the SL7 style stem or similar.

I would expect a new aero bike like Venge.
Bikes:
Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)
Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

I doubt they'll want to expand their line-up. They've already taken a different approach than most others in that the SL7 is pretty much their only race bike (and most of their pro riders are not 'heavily encouraged' to showcase their other models as it happens with say Trek) and their newer models (Aethos, Crux) are not necessarily made as purebred racers without compromise. They might take the same 'Aethos approach' with the Roubaix, but that will hardly be a WW choice if they keep any sort of dampening system.

More hype, constrained supply and increased prices.
So pretty much the same the last year or two
I would like to see a slightly more relaxed Aethos. Not as relaxed as a Roubaix, but along the lines of what Canyon has done with the Endurace.
Might even buy into the hype, constrained supply and increased prices!
