I'm intrigued if these are really the Sworks 8 or a lower tier model? My Spec. LBS was adamant that there will be no update to the 7 this year.

Li2 "A" dials instead of remodeled L6 or Li2 "C" dials suggests high-end. Also being tested by pros probably means high-end.

It definitely looks like a premium shoe to me.

This looks more in line with the road shoe than the pics from the previous page.

Yeah strange, clearly two different new prototypes. Perhaps a bit of A/B testing…or is Specialized completely mad with their shoe releases.

I am guessing one is an Ares v2

The white one could be the Ares 2 and the black the S-Works 8.

The black one looks almost exactly the same as the 7 other than the missing toe strap. Hard to tell if it's even using the new Boas (I would prefer the metal boas of the 7).

Pros currently use both, so not completely unrealistic that they are refreshing both at the same time.

Just seems weird that an Ares 2 would break cover less than a year after the original was released.

Also Li2 comes in a metal option.

It's not the fact that it's metal more I just find it easier to remove the hook and loop Boa.

How old is this photo? He's not with Bora-Hansgrohe any more, making me wonder if this is actually something that was being evaluated at some point in the past.

Riders need to ride their team kit until the end of the contract which is usually the 31.12.. So theoretically each picture could not be older than a week.

The white TE logo on his socks stands for TotalEnergies, his new team. They are also riding Specialized.

So now that the lace 7s have made their appearance... when do folks think these might show up?
