I bought a spare (s6e) fork for my caad12. It has been cut too short.

I planned to run it slammed but it is cut too short and wouldn't be safe with my current stems. It is cut about 7mm too short so I need a low stack stem (30mm). So far I have only found basso semi integrated which is 25mm height but quite heavy. Any other options you know of?

Thanks

Are you currently using thin headset cap like Slamthatstem cap or Canecreek Slamset cap already?
If not, use those first.

I'm not an engineer so tell me I'm wrong but couldn't you get an existing 2nd hand aluminum alloy stem and carefully file it down to size; 3.5mm off both sides or better yet use a facing tool to do the job even more accurately? It may not be cost effective with facing or highly accurate with hand filing, but maybe the eco option?

Flatforce and FSA Drop are good options. The Specialized Tarmac stem is also short.

I can easily extend a steerer by 10mm and provide a permanent replacement for the expansion plug at the same time. I could post details if interested.

The lowest stack height stem I've used is Deda Superleggero which I think is 36mm.

Velobike in NZ made an expander that also extends your steerer by 3, 10, 15 or 18mm:

A bit too late perhaps, but a Colnago SR09 has a 30mm stack height if you omit the cover for internal routing. It is not very light at 163 grams, but it is quite nicely machined and can be found without any decals.
