Italian Bikes

Hi
I had a colnago c64 until I was hit by a car and the bike snapped.

It was a fantastic bike but I am now in the market for a new bike, I have been told the c68 may come out in 2022, the v3RS has 6-8month wait times.

I have begun looking at other Italian bikes. Basso Diamante Sv has come up as an option. Can someone offer their perspective on basso bikes generally, and In particular the Diamante sv compared to colnago?

Or shuld I hold out for a c68?

Alternatively are there any other bikes you would consider as a replacement for my c64?

Basso is made in Italy and the Frames i had in my own hands looked really good. Sarto has been proven to be bad Quality and Customer Service.

C64 was a great ride, have hard Diamante SV is heavier and less comfortable, however the paint jobs are stunning. Would love feedback on the two

If you have no real proof of a date for a successor (aka C68) why not look at bikes that exist for real?

Italian bikes are nice BUT.
1. Know who owns the brand. Some huge holding companies own multiple cycle brands. Make sure there is still some Italian connection other than the racing heritage. What's the point if design and manufacture is all outsourced to China?
2. The bikes can be fragile and customer service can be poor. Maybe don't use an Italian bike as a training bike, summer days and sportives mostly. Or a reward for getting your body-weight down to lean, ideally under 75kg or 25bmi.

In other words do your due diligence before you buy.

Another upvote for Basso. Beautiful in person and a few models to look at with some unique ride qualities. And very truely Italian.
