Maybe someone had a chance to compare weight difference between Aethos Pro and SL6 sworks framesets?
It’s just me, but buying an “Atheos Pro” totally negates all that hype of lightweight. It be another story if it was a Pro Tarmac and that be more digestible, but having a heavier Atheos I’d much rather grab an SL6.

At this point I'm looking for lightest frameset for 3,5k Eu and if it's Aethos pro, why not to go with it?
I bought a focus izalco max rim frame for about 500 euros from one of the german sites (bike 24) as a project bike for fun. It's about 670g if I recall....this was a couple of years ago and I still have not got on it but this winter perhaps...
I had 3 bikes with rim brake, now I have 2 bikes with disk brakes and I'm not looking back to rim brakes... especially, when it will be a bike for daily use.

Got it. FWIW, the Factor Vam 02 is probably lighter than the Aethos though probably just north of the cost (comes with seatposts and bars) bracket you are in, but sometimes in the US we can source them quite cheaply (i bought my Di2 DA bike with black inc wheels for 7500 usd new pre-pandemic of course). Great bike.
Lots of bikes: currently riding Enve Melee, Krypton Pro, S Works Crux, S Works Epic Evo, SL7.
In build: SW SL8

Both in size 52.
S-Works Aethos at 571g and Factor 02 Vam rimbrake at 698g.
Factor O2 Vam should be compared to the Aethos Pro in terms of frame weight.

Yes sorry that was my intent (comparing to the Aethos Pro frame as it was in the OP thread). Interesting weight on your Vam. My disc brake Vam 02 in 56 was right on 700g if I recall though I will have to check my build notes. My total build (Darimo post, gelu saddle, DA11spDI2, MCFK 35 wheels with extralite) comes in around 5.8kg sans pedals which are speedplay ti (ward spindles). Is your Vam the latest version with the new steerer setup? I had heard it added some additional weight.

I would say Aethos is the disc brake version of extralite SCR - 058, they are super lightweight bikes that compromised strength and stiffness. (no professional racers will choose Aethos unless it is for advertisement)

Tarmac SL6 is a traditional race bike, it is heavier so that it has more carbon layups to reinforce the frame so the bike will not ride like a noodle. However, for nonprofessionals, it is really hard to tell they can feel the stiffness or not.

Aethos is lighter, but SL6 has rim-brake options. A lighter rimbrake SL6 implies it has surpassed Aethos in all aspects (stiffness, aero, weight...) except braking performance. Therefore, I will choose Aethos if and only if I am a die-hard disc breaker.

Have you ever ridden an Aethos yourself?

Just to the fork, not the frame.

Anyway, my size 56 O2 VAM disc was 750g (including hangers).
Minimum bike categories required in the stable:
Aero bike | GC bike | GC rim bike | Climbing bike | Climbing rim bike | Classics bike | Gravel bike | TT bike | Indoors bike

He did a pinch/squeeze test on both and his fingers marked less force for the Aethos.

If you want concrete figure, you have to tell us, what size do you mean.

Size 54. I saw post in the topic, that the difference is 260g. Is it that much?

Aethos 545+245=790 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=169718&hilit=aethos#p1745364
My SL6 818+313=1131 (blue cyan, rim-brake)
Difference 273+68=341

I have the SL6 (Sagan edition) and it's perhaps one of the best, most responsive, bikes I've ever ridden. It does everything perfectly. It's fast, quick, light, stable, comfortable and tracks like a slot car. I go through bikes fairly often, but the SL6 will be in my stable for a loooooong time.
