New lightweight full carbon saddle option

Hello everybody,
We are a new brand in Europe offering full carbon fiber saddles.
We are a small company producing everything here in Poland using prepreg and I just wanted to present this first saddle to the community.

Going another path than most existing saddles we designed a saddle without a rear bridge. This allows the wings of the saddle to move freely one to another and follow the hips movement induced by pedaling thus making the saddle more comfortable.

Regarding the visual side, the branding is minimalist and the saddle is available in matte or gloss finish.
At the back of each saddle you can see Araki’s branding and which music was listened to during hand lay-up (putting the prepreg in the mold). It is our way of saying “I made your saddle” and way to bring uniqueness and soul to each saddle!

For the technical specs, the saddle is sub 100grams (the number is not yet precise due to the fact that we are still in preproduction), the rails are “standard” (yes I know…) 7x9mm and are laminated to the saddle top, not just glued. Obviously this make the product more robust (but heavier). We have 135mm and 150mm wide available.

We will offer the saddle soon for pre-order at 170€, then at 210€

One question many will have, from your tests, to what type of other saddles does this shape compare to ?
From tue pictures it seems the nose is rather round than flat, Is that an impression?

The wings and overall shape is quite flat, similar to a Gelu K / Schmolke but also to an Antares.
The nose has indeed a quite round profile, it’s something that you usually see on classics/old school saddles: Brooks, Ax-l endurance and also Arione R1/Classic as instance...

Will you eventually offer a padded version?

We will most likely offer an EVA padded version.
The reason why it’s not yet available is because we would rather not use leather (I like to watch cows and horses when I pass by riding and find it a bit grim to use their skin on our saddle) but we want to have a quality alternative.
The upper fabric material we’re currently considering is partly made from natural resources and even though it has really good lab results (mostly the Martindale abrasion test matters here: 150000K cycles) we want to put it to real use over some time to make sure a real use confirm the lab results. Unfortunately that take some times...

VeloNews will have a test article available soon and we hope that Matos Vélo will have our saddle to test around the new year.
