For 180 euros you can have 175g bars from EXS. https://exs-cycling.com/products/rx-01-road-handlebar Have you read the EXS thread? Seems like a very attractive product to me. Maybe they are comparable to Schmolke? Time will tell.

Getting a lighter part (including bottles) does nothing other than save weight as long as it functions. Bringing less water means... you've got less to drink. Doesn't seem equivalent at all. Same goes for riding in 700g of Sidi shoes (assuming others would work for you) while shaving 5 grams here or there.
I guess it's all about how light the bike is in our WW pictures, not about how light it is (and feels) when we ride. Lol

Yup - couldn’t bring myself to risk something so unproven on Ali, so went back to my EXS basket and ordered a set. Kirito has been really helpful from EXS and looking forward to giving them a go.MrCurrieinahurry wrote:I'd defo be tempted by the exs bars if I needed some new ones

Although I've not tried the Vico cages yet; I completely agree with the Fly bottles! Inexpensive weight loss, for no change in function that I've found.BigBoyND wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 1:12 amInstead of getting 15 gram cages and putting standard 100g bottles in them, consider the Elite Vico cage (20g) and Fly bottles (54g).
I've been using these cages and bottles for years. Never launched, and function as well as any other bottle I've used. Bottles seem to be a common oversight in the WW community, for some reason.
Titanium parts on shoes (cleats) save a bit too, but cost $$$

Silver in 42cm. They don’t have any super light in stock and in any event only go to 40cm.MrCurrieinahurry wrote:Which ones did you go for?

I'll third the Bontrager XXX cages from eBay that are ~$15 and 16-17oz. I'm sure they are knockoffs as the "real" Bontrager XXX cages are $80 each but they are light and hold a bottle well. I bought a set for my climbing bike not sure how they would work out, but they've been great. I'm considering getting a set for my other bike.

Can confirm that silver in 42cm (40cm at the hoods) are very good. No problems so far, light and strong enough for my 77kg.Beancouter wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:28 amSilver in 42cm. Look at Tune Wasserträger 2.0, 9g for around €35 and solid. Elite Fly bottles also.
