Still no reports on issues with the PowrLink pedals? My third set of comp pedals developed play after very little use too (although only the right one this time). I'm considering a set of PM pedals and then moving my actually functional zero pedals to the bike with the comp pedals.
Ronan on CT got play in his PowrLinks, but it took a lot longer to manifest.

If indeed the pedals were a month out of warranty, then it's at the mercy of the company to offer 'goodwill' to a client. I feel the client should be grateful for this gesture. If the product is out of warranty, then the company is not responsible for what happens.
Most first generation products seem to have problems no matter what the product is. I'm not certain why people do not think they are going to be perfect. If a company manufactured a perfect product, it would come out 10 years too late and no one would purchase it because it's out dated. There is a balance of when it's good enough to let the masses perform the last OC step. It's sad, but those are the facts.
One. hundred. percent. failure. rate. How did their test team not discover this?

Yup, it's a disgrace.
And then they try and fob people of with the 'it's only 1% of products that are faulty and it is fixed now' BS.
I wish for once a company would just own it and say they f-ed up and they will do better next time.

Because the product out in the field isn’t exactly the same as what was tested (barring gross negligence of ignoring the problem is testing). I’d have to take a new and worn pair apart to compare (any offers here?) but I suspect an issue with an over-sized or out-of-round bore (think back to all the press fit BB issues caused by this) or an out of spec heat treatment on some or multiple parts (similar to DT Swiss’s hub issue with bad anodizing).
The situation sucks for everyone and you’d think that in a year they’d have this fixed. But given supply chain issues perhaps a year isn’t long enough.

The only way I would consider the PowerLink is if I had seen definite connectivity between them and the Garmin 1030 or 1040 in a review. Since I have a current Stages setup Garmin and Stages constantly go back and forth with connectivity issues meaning sometimes I see the data on the screen and sometimes not but at least I get it all at the end in my Strava. For that price I would have to be guaranteed otherwise just go with a reliable quarq meter....

From my understanding, Garmin had issues with their batteries because they did not purchase batteries that the consumers would buy. They found out that there are a lot of cheap batteries out there and with that, build quality. Of course, if I was Garmin, I would try and find an angle to blame someone else too. If it is true that the factory installed batteries did not have a connection issue, Garmin does make a point that it may be an aftermarket battery problem.
Without a doubt, this is a small selection of consumers that have pedal problems but everyone seems to have the same problem. I don't build anything, but really.....it's a pedal. How complicated is it?
I'm still a fan and waiting with cash in hand to purchase their power pedals. Just waiting for the approval of the real 'OC' specialists.

My wahoo pwr pedals are fine still after a few thousand Kms no lateral wiggle and I'll also be 100% confident any issues would be swiftly sorted by wahoo and new ones sent out.

I've just submitted a ticket om my third set comp's with play. The last replacement set actually had a lower serial number than the second set so they are probably from the same batch.
I'm amazed that they don't do more to control what they replace with. If there is a newer revision without the issue it would make sense to ensure those were sent to people that complains.

The only good thing about getting a replacement pair is scoring a free set of cleats...always an upside.

There are no 'new/fixed' ones.
Can't dispute either statement considering mine and many others experiences in this thread with several warranty replacements over the past couple months that in turn developed the exact same issue. I have warrantied both Wahoo Zero Stainless and Wahoo Zero Aero pedals and both of the replacement sets developed the same issue in very short order.

Am surprised that no mention is made of this issue in the cycling press. Only found a single YouTube video showing the play but no comments allowed.
I am now awaiting my 3rd set of Zeros and second set of Comps. All pairs have failed in under 100 miles. Mixture of left and right failed, and one both failed.
Wahoo have always replaced without issue but I'm wondering if I'll ever get a decent pair.
On the plus side I have plenty of spare cleats!

You're surprised cycling media doesn't bite the hand that feeds them? The business model for pretty much the entire cycling media is to write stuff about cycling things that are coming out so people read their stuff. If they are overly negative they stop getting access to new products before launch and they can't have their stories out when the embargo lifts. That's basically a death sentence to any media outlet.
