I gor cx403 regular and will have to return them as well. Wanted to try them since only regular is available with speedplay specific sole. Now that I'm out of options for this specific sole I'm thinking I'll try Bomt Vaypor S. Their sizing suggest regular model for 105 & 107 wide feet. Does anyone have any experience?
Bont shoes are not nearly as wide as Lake. I have a pair of Bont Vaypor S in 44 Wide.
I can barely squeeze my fit into them even after all the heat moulding I have done.
My feet are 270/108mm.
Another problem of the Bont shoes is the bathtub construction.
It does not allow for any foot expansion that occurs during riding.
This makes them ultra uncomfortable on a longer ride for me.
But it is true, that the feeling of the carbon shell wrapping around your feet is just awesome, if you can make them fit.
If you go the Bont way, I would from my experience with them suggest buying at least half a size larger shoe, as it would be much easier to mould it to a smaller size, then to "expand" the shoe that is too narrow.
Also the cleat mounting points on the Bont are considerably more to the back of the shoe compared to other shoes that I have used.
I now use Lake CX238 44 wide, they are not perfect, heel grip is not as tight as I would like, but they are very comformtable on longer rides.
