Elite Jet is a little stiffer. It seems to be the successor to Elite Fly (new plastic, new cap shape but same nozzle).Sace wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 10:19 amI've been using the Camelbak Podium for 5 years with all sorts of drinks. I really like their cap as I can leave them in the open posistion throughout my ride without spilling all over my bike. I take them apart and throw in the dishwasher after each use and have never had any problem with mold.
For indoor and long rides I prefer a bigger bottle. Currently using the 950ml Elite Fly which I absolutely hate as I find it way too soft for the big size. Can't seem to find any good alternatives in that size though.
Best water bottle?

Does it scratch like the Fly? That's the only thing I don't like about the fly...Nezz0r wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 7:27 pmElite Jet is a little stiffer. I have the 950ml Elite Fly too, and as you say it's very soft, it matters because
- easy to scratch extremely soon
- if loaded fully it can drop from bontrager XXX bottle cages or other "less secure" cages

For some reason I like Fabric Gripper bottles. Here's a pro/con list from my POV:
+ Easy to squeeze
+ Not very thin and held well in bottle cages
+/- For the most part easy to clean (at least better than Camelbaks)
+/- Grippy part is only at the top, so it's grippy when pulling out or pushing back, but not while drinking as the rest of the bottle is smooth (not an issue for me)
- Leaks if you leave the mouthpiece open (not an issue on the bike, but needs to stay straight if you put them in a backpack or use it on the couch for instance)
- Prone to scratching

And the Tacx Shanti don't leak ?robbosmans wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 5:51 pmSuprised to see so many good experiences with Elite Fly bottles, I have 2, they both leak, have permanent dents in them an scratch way to ease. I like how thin they are, makes squeezing them very ease. But simply to fragile for me. Tacx Shanti is still my go to.

Same here. Best bottle I've ever had. Ticks all my boxes (big opening, has to pour fast ! - easy to grip/squeeze - never leaks but lets you take multiple sips if wanted without self shutting every time - fits in Arundel Dave-O cages). I still have 3 years old ones that are working well no leaking.

I like the Mash ones bc you can get spongebob/patrick.
I'm looking for a water bottle, 24 oz. or greater, that doesn't leak. All my Specialized ones leak. How are Polar uninsulated water bottles? My Camelbak Podium doesn't leak, but there is the potential mold problem in the spout.
Update: purchased two Polar Breakaway uninsulated bottles on Amazon. The spout comes off for cleaning and is supposedly leak free and fits the bottle cage well (unlike my Podium). Made in Colorado and only $10 for a 24 oz. size. Seems good.
Update2: These Breakaway bottles work great. No leaks, flow well, ez to squeeze, locks into the bottle cage, spout is removable for cleaning, low price.

Been using podium chill, very nice. No problems with leaking. Recently bought the new black black podiums with no decalls! Camelback all the way
Are the caps on the new version easier to clean? I have the old one, and it just seems impossible to clean.MrRolandos wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 9:08 amBeen using podium chill, very nice. No problems with leaking. Recently bought the new black black podiums with no decalls! Camelback all the way

Never had problems with cleaningTreptay wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 9:18 amAre the caps on the new version easier to clean?
