So we are waiting on spd-sl and speedplay powermeters for years and then both are announced within a couple days...
Having the option of these main three cleat system power pedals under one umbrella is beyond what most of us imagined would be released.. One of spd or spd-sl but Not both and keo...Wow.
If they are accurate, works well And reasonably light.. We can wish.. And hope they really deliver.
Not sure about the name though.. Rally?

Didn't see this one coming
However, if TR forum is right and the price is like $1200+, I can't imagine them beating Assiomas as long as Keo cleats are involved, and paying double for SPD-SL...

Cursory glance at the SPD pedals shows the design is very much an evolution of the V3 design. Same screw-on battery caps for LR44 or CR/3N button cells. Same pedal wrench type install since the entire length of the spindle houses electronics. The claimed $1200 price is mind boggling.
The bearings on one of my Vector 3 pedals have completely seized and I think it's the needle bearing. I'm afraid I'm going to find spindle damage if I take it apart.

There are images of the XC version here : https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/gar ... r/55929/17
At that 4-digit pricepoint, if that's the right one, nobody should buy them anyway, it would become sort of SRM situation.
I sort of understand that Garmin might want to push the borders with price increases here, just as nearly the whole bike industry has done, however, you have to be aware of the competition (although, of course, this isn't their main product line at all).
And I've had a dual relationship with my Vectors V3... at times they work just fine for prolonged periods and then suddenly crap out (all this with the latest battery covers and those "single-piece" batteries).

The third iteration of the battery covers + redesigned battery board fixed the spike/drop issue completely for me.

So 1200$ for mtb spd pedals that will probably be destroyed in a year or two.
Powermeter pedals for mtb are stupid
