It could spell the end of mechanical Ultegra at that pricepoint
Never understood the positioning of Ultegra anyway. For me it's 105 or Dura Ace level, but considering the tons of bikes shipped with Ultegra I might be wrong (lots of people think of Ultegra as Dura Ace performance for a less cost, whereas I think of it as 105 only then colored grey instead of black).

My 165mm Stages LR Ultegra crankset was in the 720g range, if I recall correctly. And that was more than double the price.

I guess it depends on the chainring size but If I remember correctly, my R8000 52/36 170mm was around the 660g mark.

Contact-point adjustment is worth it to many.

Anyway, those price points are great and SRAM is about to rule the “midrange”

R2 Bike is reporting about a 25-28g difference per component minus the crankset which as reported above is in the 800 range.
lever, cable and caliper around 425g per side
RD around 328 without battery
FD without battery around 180g, so only 10 gram difference from Force here

Im curious if the 1x Rival rings will be lighter than the Red AXS 1x rings with the needed spider.. Currently the Red AXS 1x rings hover around 85g plus 62 grams for the spider, plus 20 grams for the bolts.. So around 162g total.. may the Rival rings will be lighter unless they are made from steel

Maybe I'm not understanding fully but Rival shifters are not going to have any reach adjustment?
That would be a bummer.

The shifters would have reach adjustment, just not bite point adjustment.

Nice to see that the shifters don’t look like Bart Simpson anymore

Aside from the whole gruppo, I can see this being popular to run with Shimano cassette (or ZTTO), chain & crankset. Assuming that is the FD isn't gimped and will work with 50-34 / 52-36. Presumably RD will work with 11-xx cassette.
