I predict Rival AXS will Stuka Ultegra mech out of the OEM market, hubcap on the cranks and all.

I don’t see how, Ultegra is still considerably cheaper and lighter. Emonda sl 6 ultegra 4000, sl 6 etap 4600.
Or even an slr 6 ultegra di2 is 7000, sr6 etap is 7200. For a heavier gruppo

Ultegra bikes are still significantly less expensive, so I don't think that will be the case. Rival bike pricing is right at the midpoint between Ultegra and Ultegra Di2 / Force AXS so it will carve out its own niche by drawing customers from both ends.

In the US I'm seeing this:
Emonda SL 6 Ultegra $4300. SL 6 Rival eTap $4900 (with PM).
Emonda SLR 6 mechanical Ultegra, not Di2...$6700 (either unavailable or discontinued). SLR 6 Rival eTap $7300 (with PM).
Emonda SLR 7 Ultegra Di2 $8300. SLR 7 Force eTap $9300 (with PM).

I would t be surprised if most of that weight wasn't in the rubber hood.RDY wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:36 amooo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:22 amrival axs brifter weight is 263g (with fluids) vs Force AXS HRD 238g (with fluids) vs Force AXS Rim brake 151g (175g with cable)RDY wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:09 pmIt's potentially a reasonable assumption.lazyriderzhao wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:07 pmI guess maybe the Rival levers are lighter than RED and Force……waiting for seperated weighing
Meh. Wonder how much weight they purposely added to it. Guess they used a heavy lever / blade. Someone needs to do a moulded thermoplastic lever and blade for it.
It looks thicker and it's quite dense so maybe 15+ grams?

The second link is for an SL6 comp, not SL7. I think 10r on the SL7 Comp is correct as Specialize haven't changed the frame (from what I can tell). The difference between SL6 10r and 9r frames was moving from a D-shaped seatpost to roundryanw wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 10:59 amTarmac SL7 Comp Rival AXS FACT 10r Carbon - £4,500 https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/tarma ... 90622-5044

Answered my own question, NX cassette for gravel setup. £100, wide range, AXS shifters with a GX AXS rear derailleur means you can go hydraulic, wireless, wide range for around £800teknolog wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 4:06 amI'd love to know that too. In particular, a workable cassette for the HG body on my 650 gravel wheels.Tifosiphil wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 5:18 pmSo now I want to know, what's the cheapest cassette I can run with this setup?
That doesn't look right to me either. The claimed weights for both put Rival AXS about 200g heavier than 105 disc mechanical if you factor in cable weights and similar casettes.

That's interesting. Since we have known Rival AXS lever+brake+hose is 845, we can get its pair of brake+hose weight which is 319g, and Force AXS brakes+hoses weight at 346g.....emmm.......RDY wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:36 amooo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 12:22 amrival axs brifter weight is 263g (with fluids) vs Force AXS HRD 238g (with fluids) vs Force AXS Rim brake 151g (175g with cable)RDY wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:09 pmIt's potentially a reasonable assumption.lazyriderzhao wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:07 pmI guess maybe the Rival levers are lighter than RED and Force……waiting for seperated weighing

I actually think that we'll have more people getting pulled from Ultegra Di2 than mechanical, because Rival AXS is now the entry level electronic groupset.TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 10:40 amUltegra bikes are still significantly less expensive, so I don't think that will be the case. As far as I am aware there is no 12s chainring for this crankset, or is there?TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 9:37 amsaldegracia wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 9:02 amAnd sorry, a 12-speed noob question: I have a Red 22 chainset converted to 1x (with the Sram CX chainring) on my gravel bike. Rest of the groupset is Rival 11s mechanical.
Could I keep using the Red chainset with Rival AXS or are the teeth of the chainring too wide?
Officially not recommended, but most 11spd chainrings seem to work. Definitely don't reuse those chainrings with an 11spd drivetrain at any point afteward.
Wolftooth (and I'm guessing others) have been maknig 1x chainrings for SRAM Flat-top chains for a while now.
