Because the bite point adjustment has been removed, and also no auxilliary shifter ports. Or so says the Cycling Weekly article I posted an image of above…

If that pricing is legit, I can only hope that SRAM have managed to ship a shitload of stock. If they have (unlikely I guess), it would put a lot of pressure on Shimano to try to expand production, and at least keep pricing relatively constrained on new Ultegra.

What do you mean with XDR Ready? You need to purchase a €50 driver?keno190 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 1:06 pmbikestiredirect has the page listing!

I only have 2 sets of wheels. A dt r470 db rimset with no-name shimano hubs that came with my allez disc which prolly doesn't have xdr drivers around. My other set is a set of enve 5.6 discs laced to chris kings. That chris king xdr driver is $315. My cheapest option is to re-lace the dt swiss rims with a novatec xdr hub at 100 before shop labor.FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 1:14 pmWhat do you mean with XDR Ready? It could spell the end of mechanical Ultegra at that pricepoint
Someone buying their first low/mid level bike is going to go for the electronic groupset over the mechanical groupset almost everytime
If SRAM can ship the stock fast enough, they will take a significant chunk of the OEM market with that pricing and tech

Just as I predicted, the XDR driver is here to stay. Owning all Campy/Fulcrum wheels, this works for me. I have two spare drivers. I sold my Campy zondas and both buyers wanted Campy freehub bodies.
Force mechanical levers are fairly cheap at $230 from some sources, for those wanting rim brakes. Sram, Campy or Tektro brakes will work, but no quick release on Campy brakes.
I use force axs mechanical levers with discs brakes and Juin-Tech GT-f calipers.

More range?
43/30 10-36 is big enough for most of gravel, while 46/33 10-36 is huge range for road.

Right? And they could even do more and go 48/35 with a 10-36 and have a sub 1:1 low with a 52/11 equivalent high.FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 2:40 pmMore range?

When I buy rival AXS for my 3T, I'll probably go 46/33 and 10-36. That's already a much bigger range than my current 48/32 and 11-34.
My only gripe is that I really hoped there would be a 42T compatible RD and 10-42 cassette in the rival line to make 1x viable without dipping into the MTB range.
