What about Le Col? They're still made in Italy and you can always get a £50 strava code
Which one, the Chinese, the Vietnamese or the Romanian one?
Even the same product can come from multiple factories: I have two pairs of the same glove model that have different "made in" labels.
But you are right in so far as that they are much closer than just "owned by the same org" like for example Focus and Cervélo, it's one company with two brands.

Went on a ride this morning with the new Castelli Premio Black bibs and they are fantastic. Super comfortable, lightweight, breathabale, compressive legs, and no visible logos. Highly recommend.Robius wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:16 pmYeah I'm also considering this. Do they creep up the leg at all? I suppose the leg grippers are not your standard ones...jgman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:56 pmWent on a ride this morning with the new Castelli Premio Black bibs and they are fantastic. Gloves. The print eventually fell off on the Vietnamese ones but on the Chinese ones the print lasted until I ruined them in a crash. I assume that both were as genuine as it gets, considering that they were handed to me by a headquarters employee.
The Chinese were one year older even, but I'd guess that print retention isn't so much a result of the country were it was made but an outcome of how the machine was set on that particular day. I'd gladly buy another pair (no matter where from), but unfortunately they have been replaced by a new model that I don't quite like as much (I generally tend to like the clothing I know more than the new clothing I could buy, more money for toys I guess)

I've been eyeing these but Castelli sizing always throws me for a loop.jgman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:56 pmWent on a ride this morning with the new Castelli Premio Black bibs and they are fantastic. Are you able to compare sizing to Assos (RS9) or Q36.5 bib shorts? I wear medium in those brands.
Current: 2021 Bianchi Specialissima I 2021 Tarmac SL6 S-Works (Sagan Edition) l 2023 Aethos S-Works
I am small in Assos and Q36.5 bibs and medium in Castelli bibs. However, whenever I order a different brand I usually order two sizes to try on both and return oneMarkoP wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 2:08 pmI've been eyeing these but Castelli sizing always throws me for a loop.jgman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 12:56 pmWent on a ride this morning with the new Castelli Premio Black bibs and they are fantastic. When I look at them in the context of other clothing and look at the amount of material and work that goes into them, again in comparison to other clothing, I struggle to see the value.
I like them better than both Assos and Q36.5 Dottore bibswarthog101 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 3:27 pmThey are $260-jgman wrote:Just ordered Castelli's new Premio Black Bibs. Look really nice.

Thanks for the reco on these. Bought a pair past week and did a 6 hour ride in them on Saturday. Bought a large (medium in Assos and Q36.5).jgman wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 2:37 pmI am small in Assos and Q36.5 bibs and medium in Castelli bibs. Overall I was impressed and they will be in my regular rotation. Need to do a few more rides before I can compare to Assos Rs9 and Q36.5 Elite (comparable to the Dottore X I believe).
At this point I felt the chamois wedged a few times but other than that the length is great, chamois isn't bulky, junk isn't compressed and anesthetically I can mix and match the all black look with various jerseys.
The straps are good but I still find the Assos and Q36.5 soft straps hard to beat.
Will give it a few more rides break in and see how they hold up with multiple washes but definitely on par with the 2 brands.
If only Assos would only extend the length a couple of inches...argh
