Heard something bouncing around in my wifes front rim, turns out it was a piece of cracked nipple.
There is still enough nipple there so the spoke has not lost tension.
Looks like the nipple is aluminum and corroded.
I took off the rim tape and inspected the other nipples and at least one more that is cracked.
I am thinking I should replace them with brass nipples.
Found Sapim and Enve both make brass internal nipples, Enve costs twice as much but not sure why.
Being that these are carbon rims I am not sure how much to tension spokes, normally for an aluminum front rim I would go 100 Kgf.
I have not inspected the rear wheel yet , but I am guessing it must also have cracked nipples being that the stress is higher.
Thanks for any advice.

both type of nipples will corrode... if you are running tubeless add the importance of a very good tape job. Sealents will make this problem happen faster.
