Will part number 406923 fit the new Emonda?
Negative, that is for a rotary post from 2020 and older models

*edit* yes it can - I was still envisioning the Domane posts.

Ok, does it exist a 7x9 clamp that fits new Emonda?

Doesn't the latest Émonda use the same seat mast cap as previous generations? It certainly looks that way.

Yes. I'm confused by this also.

Sorry total brain fart - I was still on the Domane kick. WHOOPS, human error.

Emonda can use 406923 for a 7x9 rail as it's seat mast cap remains unchanged, unlike the Domane.

The lightweight rotary head rail clamps come with new faceplates, but those are designed to sit and compress into the rotary post and shouldn't sit by themselves in the new Domane post. Here is the lightweight one Gabe was mentioning:
Just to clarify, will the lightweight rotary head rail clamps work on a 2019 Domane if you get new faceplates? Do you have part number(s) for these? Do you know if they can still be ordered?

Thanks,
Ryan

I know we emailed, but for anyone else's reference, details below!

W440961 is the part number that comes with the clamp hardware and faceplates for the seat mast. The lightweight clamp is for 7x9 saddle rails. These may possibly be fading away as we no longer stock these in our main Wisconsin warehouse and there are limited counts coming in to CA and NJ warehouses. Get them while we got em folks!

Question: I bought the 7x10 lightweight seat mast for my new 2021 Emonda, to go with the Aeolus Pro saddle. I noticed that the rotary ears on the seat mast are not lubricated. Because of this, the seat does not readily rotate. In fact, it resists rotation unless popped out of it's socket. Is this an oversight? Should I lubricate them? The rotary ears on my Specialized Allez Sprint came lubricated and readily rotate when loosened.

I wouldn't lubricate them, this isn't something we call for nor is it something I have ever seen done for our mast caps. Best to pop them out and rotate.

maybe too late for you but I have the s works mirror saddle mounted on my madone slr 2020. I ordered the 7x10 saddle ears for the slr from trek and purchased a carbon fiber tube with a width of 1 mm. I cut the tube and applied 1 mm section to the 7x9 rail of the saddle with 2 part epoxy. I then installed the saddle and no issues.

I have not had problems just using the 7x9 railed saddles in 7x10 clamps, but YMMV.
+1

With old style clamp design and now the newer type of clamping I use the 7x10 ears with PRO saddles (Aerofuel and Stealth) without problems and correct torque.

I am wondering if someone has the Trek # for the red ears for the old Emonda SLR 10?

EDIT: Perhaps I have to read the whole thread before writing. Just read above the number for it: W440961
Thanks a lot!

EDIT2: Part W440961 is not available anymore. :(
