Me, VERY happy. Alas, I’ve accepted that I’m currently riding my last rim brake road bike and I’m not plunking down nearly $700 on brakes I will soon part with.Ypuh wrote:Who are they making happy with this?
First part yes, second part no.
Have been quite interested in eeBrakes the last year (haven't pulled the trigger yet for obvious reasons). Also took note on the LE's (see one of the previous pages for an overview). Although they won't go for much higher prices, they won't go any lower than the regular versions either. What makes them unique is that they really are limited and only produced for 2 weeks. You'll quickly get a hate it or love it feel with them (I'd love to own one, but it has to suit my bike).
Very little difference AFAIK. The G4s can cope with slightly wider rims I think? But I had both the G3s and G4s working fine with both 24mm and 26.5mm rims. In both cases, and with the standard single spacers installed, I could swap these wheels and adjust for the difference using the barrel adjuster if the cable clamp position was set carefully, without changing spacers.
Otherwise construction and function seems to be identical as far as I can tell.

I think biggest difference is little bit stronger spring on G4. A year ago sent message to Cane Creek if G4s spring is compatible with G3 and this was answer:
"You can use the G4 on the G3 brakes with some minor modifications. The new spring is stronger because it's 2.0 gauge as opposed to 1.8. So you have to drill out the spring perch ever so slightly to make them fit."
I bought used G3 set and didn't have any reason to change stronger spring. If your frame have tight corners for rear brake cable or you want all extra clearange for tire, then I would think G4 would be better option. Otherwise I would get used G3 if price is right.
Yes, sorry, I forgot about the spring! (I think because the difference, for me at least, is pretty subtle.)
I just measured my G3s and G4s. The main pivot points on the G3s are 45mm apart (center to center) on the G3s and 50 mm on the G4s. So my guess is that apart from the spring, the main difference is a new bridge, which is slightly wider and has the different logos.

There is also the central screw plug, plastic on the G3, alloy on the G4. And allen screw for 3 and torx for 4. This last point matter if you don't have already torx bits on your multi-tool, more to carry.
eeBrakes El TD look sick!;
How do EE brakes work with Campagnolo Super Record vs. the Campag brakes in DM configuration?

Works great over here, no complain.
Before I used them with Shimano and can't see any major difference.

You're not wrong. They're so good we had to make them the centrepiece of the entire bike! Massive kudos to the guys at Spoon Customs for delivering above & beyond on the frame and then Gun Control Paintworks for just nailing the paintjob.
Just getting some new tyres fitted this morning so will post a full breakdown later, including the all-important weight!

Any ideas or opinions on these? Anyone tried them?
It seems to good to be true, and I don't have the cash to just try it and take the loss if it's crap.

They are obviously fake.
I believe the photos in the ad are of the real deal though, so don't be fooled.
