I've got an Ultegra CLX on order with the Dt Swiss Arc 1400 wheels.

I'm tempted to swap them out from new for a set of Farsports Feder 55 x 27mm wheels with 240 hubs at around 1450g around 250g less.

Probably cost neutral by the time I've sold the oe wheels.

My local roads include a lot of up and down, fairly short and sharp climbs, and ill also race crits.

Any thoughts on which would be quicker? Would you bother changing them?

It would be nice to try the originals first, but resale will be more if they are still new, which would mean ordering the Farsports now so they are here for when the bike comes.
I have the same thoughts and am very divided. Do the advantages of a wider and modern rim profile outweigh a few millimeters lower rim depth?
Here are some alternatives i revieced from Lightbicycle:

-Rim: AR55 flyweight, clincher hook, 21mm inner width/28mm outer width/55mm depth, front 24H/rear 24H, UD Paintless.
-Hub: Black Carbon-Ti X hub, 12*100mm, 12*142mm, center lock disc, straight pull, Sram XD-R freehub, 56T
-Spokes: Black Sapim CX-Ray(bladed)
-Nipples: Black Aluminium
USD1316.4/pair, 1344g+/-25 with a 5-year warranty.

RR56C03 disc, 21.6mm inner width/28mm outer width/56mm deep, complete wheelset cost USD1100.4/pair, 1404g+/-25, a 3-year warranty.
WR65 disc flyweight, 25mm inner width/32mm outer width/65mm deep, complete wheelset cost USD1156.4/pair, 1494g+/-25, a 3-year warranty.

Is It worth replacing the ARC 1400 with one of these sets?

Has anyone got a large? I need to know what the maximum saddle height really is. Canyon quotes 824mm but I need 840mm. XL gets way too long and is too high for me.

Does anyone has any info if they are going to offer clip-on tri extensions to this bar? Or maybe the ones made for the previous one would fit?
Thanks!
Just replying to myself. I contacted Canyon about that matter and they said that they cannot tell, whether they are going to offer aero clip ons or not:/

It's a dealbreaker for me. Are there any universal clip on bars that would fit on a number of aerobar shapes?

Thanks

Hmm you mean to install it on the stem? The stem on the CP0018 looks a bit wide and it gets wider distally. Wonder if it would fit.

Zero chance of the headset cover being replaceable on the CFR or SLX, as it contains the cockpit clamping mechanism. The entry level SL however still has the old CP10 cockpit and thus must also use a more standard fork and headset setup.
Not correct, the top bolt will still put tension on the headset
The low profile headset cover has a seal to keep water and schmutz out
I have this on my Ultimate with H36 bars

If you don't believe me, ask Canyon support
What exactly am I supposed to ask to Canyon support? My very own Ultimate CF SLX Disc is also equipped with the low profile headset cover in order to slam the cockpit as low as possible. I know exactly how the cockpit/headset/steerer setup on the Ultimate works, and it has absolutely nothing in common with the new Aeroad.
Just adding a datapoint to this thread: anyone wanting to get a good look at how the cockpit & fork fit together on the new Aeroad can check out this vid; relevant bits on the cockpit are from 3:12-7:52.

Totally proprietary system, unlike anything else on the market, but with a nod to old quill stems. Just inverted! 8)
WOW - look at the flex of the Cockpit (7:33 in the video above)
Isn't that a bit worrying..? :?

looks controlled, but not ideal for MVDP

Maybe the flex helped MVDP to outsprint WVA @Vlanderen?

That looks a little worrying to me for a superbike. It is a noodle!

Who's going to video themselves pushing down on their regular carbon bars and stem?

Lets have at least few people do that and post their weight, so we could draw some objective conclusions
