Came from Suplest Edge pros in size 44, which I never really got comfortable with. I suspect they might have been half a size or a size too big for my feet. Seems like really good shoes though, just not for my feet
Of course, 300 W for 2 hrs. is not good for amateur rider...

I haven't used them that many times but they have been very good so far. The material is sturdier than on the Prolights but it is still very similar structurally. They don't exactly have that slipper like feel of the Prolights but they do provide a more secure fit.tommyboyo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:15 pmHow are the imperials out on the road then bud? Interested to hear.Roadbiker10 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 3:07 pmJust got the Imperials and wow, they fit awesome. Definitely keeping them over the 902s.
I will write more about them with an update on my situation in the thread that I created on my foot problem, to not go off topic here.
I will make the update with pics in the other thread, just haven't had time.

They finally arrived and the 45 fits me perfectly. Glad I went with it. For reference, I wear in size 10 in Nike and Adidas and most other brands, and my foot measures at 280mm.
Also, I always thought I had a wide foot, but apparently not. The RC902s feel really roomy upfront, much wider than my Mavics.

Have you tried the previous sphyres? my foot has similar measurements but the volume of the 901 (both wide and normal) seemed too much. I mean the fit was good, but i had to crank the boas quite a bit and had wrinkles in the upper.
The new sh-rc903 has now been released.

Some shops already have dropped the price of the old rc902, for example r2.
There was some speculation that these would be smaller again than the RC / XC 702 and 902 were than than 701 and 901. Anyone know whether that's the case, or they stayed the same or went back to xx1 sizing? There were a lot of complaints and high rate of abandonment in the larger sizes due to this, between xx1 and xx2 ... but nothing like Shimano to double down on something that's unpopular.
Edit: I guess it's probably true. They appear to have eliminated the 49 and 50 completely, after removing the 49W and 50W in the xx2 series, and making them significantly shorter and narrower across the board. That's really disappointing, just as other manufacturers are increasing options for long / wide feet.

I hate articles like that as we still don't know when we will actaully be able to purchase a set of the new shoes!kervelo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 4:43 pmThe new sh-rc903 has now been released.

A lot of people here seem to be very keen on replacing their previous gen Shimano S-Phyres (I see this in various Specialized shoe threads too).
How well do Shimano S-Phyres last? Are we talking about one season, two seasons, many seasons?
My reference point is the Sidi Wire 2, which are durable, but also quite heavy shoes.

My Sphyre RC 900 still works good. It's 3 generation old at this point, right? 900, 901, 902, 903 release every few years.
I just need to replace heel tread twice to get here. Also, I think the original insole feel less good now than when new. So I replaced the insole too.

My rc901 and rc902 shoes are still in great condition, but I will get another pair of the rc902s as long as they are available. IMO the design of the rc903 is not as good as the older models, because the mesh opening at the top makes it harder to keep them clean.
